Charm Equipment Slots: Integration Into The Drop System
Ok. The greatest weakness of Diablo clones comes in the form of the hunter side of the hunter-gather spectrum; if you want Str armor, what do you kill? If you want gems, what do you kill? If you want quivers, etc...
The natural extension of the genre is to use "luck charms" that have dedicated gear slots. No battle stats whatsoever, they simply bend the RNG to go more in the direction of what you want to find: Bowfinder's Charm: +200% Bow and Quiver Drop Rate Armor Snob's Charm: +200% Nonhybrid Armor Drop Rate (3 primary armors would drop per 1 hybrid) Unique Jewel Finder's Charm: +10% Gem Drop Rate The charms themselves should naturally be themed to be made out of bones and giblets, because what's luckier than an Albino Rhoa Gizzard? Nothin'. This thread has been automatically archived. Replies are disabled.

Not a bad idea at all. You could put a couple of squares beside the head or some other bit of real estate. None of this "charm in inventory stuff," of course. But yeah.
Your's is the first of these I've seen that wouldn't imbalance the content terribly. |

Really cool idea. Thoughts:
-Lends itself to exploitation if, for example, swords are the most valuable so the guy with 3/1 sword finding gets rich. - Might take away the need to trade as much. Not that this is a bad thing IMO, as trading is time consuming. |
