EleCleave HC Dual Wield Duelist

Since ele cleave is gettin highly popular I'm gonaa give a short description of how it will work with a duelist imo. It's the build I was using during the 1 week race until I stupidly died to vaal merci - had no real problems till that point even before the patch changes although playin manmode and therefore being extremely poor :D

So here we go:

Lvl ~35 - Entereing Cruel

No need to get Leather and Steel or Diamond Skin too early on. Ofc if your resistances suck Diamond Skin grab Diamond Skin. IR is gettin taken after start runnin Grace.

Lvl ~55 - Entering Merciless

It's easy to see I'm just bumping my life at this stage cuz well... life>all. Also gettin to Resolute Technique seems like a must to me. At this stage your resistances can and probably will suck so gettin some res nodes will be a good idea. There are a lot just sitting there to be grabbed if need be.

So we in mecriless now and we can finally go take those juicy nodes in the templar area.
(Respecing some useless 8% life nodes in the process).

Lvl ~65 - Core Build (Vaal Fight)

Now from here on it pretty much depends on what your gear looks like - whether you need more res or life. If everything is cool you can just start gettin dem ele nodes.

Here's an example what an endgame build may look like - this one is heavy on life regen. Going for Inner Force is also a good option. Yiu can work your magic here.

Links, and stuff:

Cleave+Added Fire+Weapon Elemental is the desired combination in the begining. Dual Strike is pretty good early on for single targeting.
Later on this is Changed to Cleave+WED+Faster Attacks.
And lastly we add Mana Leech. Mana leech is a must otherwise you gonna have to run with 2 mana pots forever and noone likes spamming those. Another option could be to add Blood magic gem but that looks riskier and without much sense. This 4L combo is enough to beat the game I believe. Gettin 5L or 6Ls is a bonus in which you can add supports like AOE, Life Leech, LoH, Concentrated Effect, Quantity or whateva suits you.

For boss fights and 1vs1 with rares the best and easist combo is:
Viper Strike+Increased Duration+Faster Attacks.
If you wanna be safe just hit the bastard 4 times and run around, then repeat, while hacking and slashing in the meantime. Bosses and rares are just childs play with Viper Strike.

Gear:

Life, Resists, Ele Damage.
Evasion, Armour, or hybrid.
Not much to clarify hear?
Here's the gear I died with - nothing special.
Spoiler

Badnits:
Normal: Help Oak for HP.
Cruel: Kill 'em all
Merciless: Kill 'em all or help Oak if you want the extra charge.

Playstyle:
Decoy totem, Enfeeble/Ele Weakness/Chains Cleave, Cleave, Cleave. Dual Strike with Culling Strike for last hit(Qauantity and Rarity with it?) and so on. Ele weakness is a good choice too, didnt have one.
As for auras:
Grace, Anger and Wrath + Reduced Mana are the obvious combo. Added to those can be Purity, Determination, Haste, Vitality. If you dont have enough mana some of the non percantage ones can be linked with BM support gem.
Sadly can't give any feedback for how it handles maps but I assume with the right amount of life will be fine???

GG wall of text...

Can this work for a soft core player?

Most hardcore builds will work in default league since they are generally geared around survivability, and in default you can drop a little of that to bolster your DPS.

Is iron reflexes works well?
cuz sometimes i feel iron reflexes+grace doesnt really make me become more solid. still get owned when i go cruel act 3.
i m taking blood magic rite now, goin to rufund some points when i have bloodmagic gem.
I'm running a similar build (for the first 60~ levels) and i am having difficulties in act 3 cruel. In fact i don't even try to fight the voidbearer packs, i just pull out my bow. I did this with vaal as well (2 people in our party died, both melee)

I can't shake the feeling that duelist is vastly inferior to templar and marauder (in pretty much every way, but especially for melee), and that its only a matter of time before i die.

at level 51 I have 1650 life and all elemental resists capped except cold which is at 50, but i still feel weak.

Did you experience anything like this? I am really just considering transferring my gear to a templar and making this character a bow user or something. The only thing stopping me is that its not like duelist is good anything else.

Perhaps post your gear so OP, or someone else, could tell you more.
