Passive "Increased Attack Speed with Wands"
Hi.
First of all, please correct me if this is the wrong place for asking, but I am quite new in the PoE-Universe. For the most questions I have, I easily can find the solutions online...but with the following i am struggeling: There is a passive which gives me increased ATTACK-speed for wands. Can someone give me a hint, when this passive is useful. As far as I know: - wands do have the implicit mod +spell-damage, so I want to use wands with spell-gems or vice versa - wands do have in general less physical damage - attack-speed does not influence spells, but only attacks So i dont get it, why would I like an increased attack-speed when using a wand?? Thanks for any help in advance. Cheers, max Last bumped on Mar 1, 2018, 5:24:00 AM

1. Yep, right place for questions :)
2. Spells indeed do not scale with Attack Speed. Wands do deal relatively low Physical Damage, but their base Attack Speed and Crit Chance are potent. Wanders generally build towards 95% Crit Chance (the natural cap), and use flat Damage bonuses such as Wrath and Ring affixes to ramp up the Damage per Hit. Kinetic Blast is legit, and Barrage is commonly used to deal with bosses. Frenzy, Power Siphon and Elemental Hit also work with Wands. Last edited by Vipermagi#0984 on Feb 28, 2018, 7:07:36 PM

In addition to attacks with wands being quite powerful on their own, there are ways to trigger casting spells by attacking. (Two examples.) If you are using one of these mechanics, you benefit from both the increased spell damage and the attack speed to trigger your spells more often.
Or you can even corrupt a wand to have an implicit mod relevant to attacks! Last edited by Abdiel_Kavash#5296 on Mar 1, 2018, 3:28:52 AM

Thanks a lot!!!
Now it's clear. This game has just an amazing diversity to offer...it will probably take me years to get to know all the aspects:-) |
