"Can I Not Have A Moment's Respite?"

Please, for the love of whatever, reduce the occurrence of this obnoxious Scion statement that happens way, way, WAY too often!!

I usually play the witch but since the new dialogue was released way back when, I've been seeing this complaint since about 2015 and now I know why. I've recently found a build that I'm enjoying that's optimum for the Scion but my god, she says that damn line constantly, when it shouldn't be said, in the thick of heavy battle, do or die, and that whiny bitch (sorry for the language but that's how she comes across...constantly) just keeps complaining.

Honestly, I get she was pampered story-wise prior to being dumped on Wryeclast but playing-wise, the fatigue of hearing that same statement over and over and over is truly ridiculous. At the very least, could you include an option to mute character dialogue? I've been playing for years and this is the only character that makes me dearly wish the game included that option.

If I recall correctly, it's her "low on mana" phrase. The main player side solution is get better mana management if you're constantly hearing it.

But GGG can do a couple things that could alleviate it. The main one is simply give an option to turn off "low on resource" vocals. Allow it to still output as text, but not as sound. Alternately, some way of only playing them every X minutes instead. Yes, minutes, not seconds, anything under a minute is still too annoying.

No, it's actually not. She's said that right when I just began a fight and activated an ability soon after another. At first I thought I might have been spamming a key too much but no, it happened right after I activated an ability right before a fight.

As I said in my OP, I've mostly played as the witch and she has her own similar statement of, "When I'm ready, and not before.' but she doesn't say that nearly as often as the Scion character says hers, which is why I'm making a post about it. I hear that Scion statement way too often, it's just ridiculous how often she says it. She's supposed to be a bad-ass but with how often she says that statement, she comes off as a whiny little brat.

I appreciate your reply though, sorry if I sound angry but I guess it's because I am. I try to ignore her but with how often she says it, I find myself shouting at my screen, "Just deal with it!!" The Scion was the special character to get originally before all of the changes to POE, she just seemed uber because you had to go out of your way to get her, but now she sure as hell doesn't act like it by saying she needs to rest all of the gdamn time.

Hm, I'll need to look at her stuff again then. The word "respite" isn't on the wiki page for her so I figure if I can pin down when and why she says it then that can get edited in.

However, since the word 'respite' is a dialogue word for the Scion, I don't think it really means anything other than the developers found it fitting for her to say it , which it is, given her background. The only problem is she says it way to gdamn much, to the point where I'm wondering why doesn't she just lie down and die already if it's all too much for her to handle, since she apparently feels the need to have so much 'respite'.

So, if the GGG devs want her to be a bad ass, saying that she needs to rest so fricken much is not the best way of going about it. Just sayin'.

If it's getting repeated so much during battle or otherwise when using abilities then there must be a repeatable trigger for it.

I play a Scion, and can /confirm she does say this every so often... but, really, it's nothing out of hand. :P

(Edit: PS, usually happens to me when trying to place a Decoy Totem.)

Holyshite! You're absolutely right. Tonight I just swapped out the Decoy Totem (used it early before certain gems were available to me) and since I did that, I haven't been annoyed really at all since then.

It didn't even connect until I checked back on this thread, saw your comment and suddenly everything made sense because I hadn't even realized her lack of saying it since the switch. With a brand new character, starting a fight I'd use the Decoy Totem, so it became so incredibly annoying to hear that over and over again, knowing that I wasn't spamming any ability for her to be constantly whining like that.

Spamming skills on CD triggers it
Out of mana when trying to use a skill triggers it
Spam clicking too much triggers it (Not 100% sure this is accurate)

That's about the only time it'll ever occur and you can easily test yourself by doing the above and she'll say often enough.
