General Question to damage calculated with critical strikes.
|
Hey guys,
although i'm playing poe for a long time, I'm still confused about the way damage with critical strikes is calculated. Example case: You got a weapon with 50-100 fire damage 30-60 cold damage 5-160 lightning damage Is it true, that a critical hit will take only the max damage and a normal hit will roll any number between min and max damage? If yes, why should I play any other crit build than lightning based? Last bumped on Dec 23, 2017, 3:06:41 AM

https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Critical_strike has all the gory details, but the TL;DR is:
If you hit something with that weapon it will do damage from all three of those, added together. (eg: between 50 and 100 fire, plus 30 to 60 cold, plus 5 to 160 lightning.) If you get a crit it will multiple that number by your crit multiplier (eg: a "more" increase on damage.) The proportion of each element will remain the same, but they will all increase the same amount. So, no, this weapon doesn't imply anything about focusing on lightning or anything like that. |

" No. A critical hit will do whatever damage a normal hit would do, multiplied by your critical multiplier. (By default 150%.) It does not make you automatically get the best possible damage roll. |

" I know that page and I have read it very often and very carefully...but I can't find anything there about min/max rolls on crit. " That's it! And crit multi is rolled before or after "more" multipliers? Thx so far :) Last edited by dreggich#1919 on Dec 29, 2017, 2:22:59 PM

" doesnt matter. it is a multiplier and when you multiply stuff the order is not relevant IGN: Eric_Lindros
