Stats

Energy Shield (+9k)( +10K )
Fire Resistance ( 75%)
Cold Resistance ( 75% )
Lightning Resistance ( 76% )
Chaos Resistance ( 75% )

Patch Notes 3.7 Change

Lahkesis Queen of Chaos still fine
1 Wick Ward removed (i don't use wicked ward in my endgame setup my setup is > profane bloom,Malediction ,Void Beacon , Withering Presence )we useing Vaal Discipline so now we pick Wick Ward from normal tree
2 Bane less damage then before (Bane in my setup just sub skill the build is Essence Drain ) Bane still fine for the build

Build Mechanics

Essence Drain
Inflicts strong Damage Over Time debuff on the target it hits

Wither
36% reduced Movement Speed
6% increased Chaos Damage taken

Defenses
Essence Drain Gives 0.50% of Debuff Damage as Life regeneration

Zealot's Oath
Converts all your life regen to ES regen, 0.5% regen from Essence Drain Damage gives you a lot of ES regen when you hit with ed. It keeps giving you ES regen while using Essence Drain

Enfeeble | Temporal Chains | Despair
Enfeeble : Lowering enemies' accuracy, crit chance and overall damage

Temporal Chains : Lowering action speed from enemies (cast/attack and movement speed)

Despair : Increasing Damage over time taken for enemies

Essence Drain's damage is affected by:
Spell damage
Chaos Damage
Damage Over Time

Profane Bloom[ Ascendancy node ]
Your Curses can apply to Hexproof Enemies.
Chance for cursed enemies to explode increased from 20% to 25%.
Enemies killed by your minions now also have a chance to explode

Contagion
A skill that works great in tandem with Essence Drain, allowing you to clear the whole screen and mobs ahead of you and your ED has much wider range to hit (hit any enemies in the Contagion-affected area to gain ES regen rather than just one particular monster

Bane
An active skill gem that applies a debuff to enemies in an area, which deals Chaos Damage over Time. Linked curses are also applied to those enemies. The debuff deals more damage and lasts longer for each curse applied this way.

Enduring Cry
is chosen over Immortal Call or Steelskin because it gives a duration of 10 seconds compared to only 1 second buff from either guard skills by default. IC and Steelskin by default have a cooldown of 4 seconds, making them even less useful. It gives less physical mitigation compared to either guard skills, but yields a more consistent result (12% physical mitigation and 12% more elemental resistance to combat Elemental Weakness curse maps in case flask charges are depleted) with longer uptime. This combined with increased-effect Enfeeble curse allows the queen to be quite tanky.

Important notes for the build

the importance of investing into curse effects on skill tree

Curse effects
This is the critical part of why Lahkesis Queen of Chaos has very good safety overall in mapping and doing boss fights. It is important to grab skill tree nodes that give increase non-curse auras' effects (affecting Malevolence, Zealotry, Discipline, etc for both offensive and defensive capabilities) and curse effects (Temp chain, Enfeeble effects will further make enemies slower and hit for less damage). If you are dying a lot, it usually means you haven't had any curse effects on skill tree!

Mana Reserved
you will need to invest into a lot of mana reservation reduction nodes on skill tree.

To get enough mana reserved, aside from a Conqueror's Efficiency jewel with x% reduced mana reserve implicit

Spiritual Aid Explanation
A notable on skill tree that allows increase/decrease of minion damage also applies to you. This means we can invest in any nodes that say "Minions deal x% inc dmg" to further augment our damage output without having any actual minions. Only worth it when you reach high level. Survivability is prefered (increase your total ES first before damage investment, as the build already has very good damage ).

Abyssal Cry mechanics
A defensive gem to help countering the porcupine monsters in maps (monsters that shoot a lot of spikes on death). These monsters is the weak spot of the build, and Abyssal Cry helps mitigate this problem while only requiring one gem slot. Cwdt Immortal Call/Steelskin are viable options but take 2 gem slots (Steelskin self-cast is possible but strength requirement is very high to reach an acceptable value of mitigation) and Immortal Call change in 3.7 no longer fits this purpose.
These monsters don't really often occur in maps and can be handled by sidestepping if running a map that has walls that block their projectiles, so only requiring pressing this gem button once in a while without reducing clear speed too much.

Enduring Cry mechanics
To generate 3 endurance charges and some ES regeneration (Zealot's Oath) during effect. Can be used as a replacement for Abyssal Cry in deep delve or maps with no porcupines to further enhance survivability against physical hits under tougher map mods like less recovery rate of life/ES, monsters cannot be slowed below base movement speed, etc, but not as good of an option otherwise, up to your preference. Use either Enduring Cry or Abyssal Cry whenever necessary (do not use both at the same time!)

Statistics

Defensive Stats
The following stats do not include helmet enchantments like Enfeeble has 30% increased curse effect, assume players do not have their curse effects reduced as a map mod and monsters do not have any bonus damage map mods and the hits from monters do not deal critical strikes.

Total Curse Effect: 40% increase from skill tree + 25% increase from Ascendancy + 10% Blasphemy 20 quality = 75% increased curse effect for all curses

Physical damage reduction:
Basalt flask (15%) + 3 endurance charges (12%) + Lunaris pantheon (assume 8% at max) + Enfeeble (47% or 23%) = 65% physical damage reduction

Offensive Stats

Essence Drain can reach 3-4 million Shaper DoT and the hit damage can be ~ 150k Shaper DPS on average (which kills a lot of monsters before the DoT applies) with min-maxed gear. Other than that 500k- 1 million Shaper DoT is achievable with a multi-craft bow to do all contents.

Bane can reach 1.5 million Shaper DoT with min-maxed gear. If not, a few hundred thousand Shaper DoT is possible and enough for all contents.

Playstyle & Mapping & Delve

ED/Bane Version
If you are playing this version of the build, normally press Bane and it should be enough to clear one whole pack, and keep moving until you complete the map. This version also has a gem slot for Contagion, so you can use Contagion and ED to clear a load of monsters ahead of you. Keep flasks up while mapping, the faster the better.

ED/Contagion version
Self-explanatory. You're not using Bane, so keep spamming Contagion and then ED and all Curses all be aura .

Difficult map mods to note:

Monsters' action speed cannot be reduced below base value
This means our Temp chain curse won't be as effective, if not at all on some rare monsters, meaning they won't be slowed as much and this can be dangerous to run this map, especially in narrow layouts that don't allow much room to maneuver, such as Carcass, Core, Phantasmagoria, Cells, Dungeon, etc or any maps that have a lot of objects on the ground blocking our way, such as Shrine, Shipyard maps. Play with more caution.

x% reduced curse effects
This directly affects our cursing capability, less slow, hinder and less dmg reduction for monsters, but not as dangerous as the first mod.

Players cannot regenerate life, mana and energy shield
Reroll this map.

Any maps that have at least 3 increased damage mods for monsters
(Monsters deal x% extra damage as cold/lightning/fire, players are cursed with elemental weakness, -x% max player's elemental resistances, monsters deal x% increased damage): Avoid stacking too many of these, as it can prove to be a very deadly run for any builds, not just this build. If you do not care about gaining experience, you can still run and survive these maps if played properly.

Difficult bosses to note:

Twinned Malachai in Core map
One Malachai is already quite a hassle to play against, one or two damage mods might already hurt with all the chaotic mechanics going on, play with caution and observe his mechanics to avoid taking unnecessary damage. Two of this boss means you will have a very fun time surviving.

Chimera, Shaper's guardian
By far the most challenging guardian to play against, during his smoke phase. You need quick movement and pop defensive flasks and Vaal Discipline (yes, save it for this phase while you can) to survive his hits and find him as quickly as possible in one of the clouds he hides. Our ES gets chipped away by continuous hits from him while he's in this phase. He does this phase more often near death, so make sure to have enough damage before trying to take him on to end the fight as fast as you can.

Uber Atziri
Tough for any builds that do not phase her instantly. If you haven't achieved that level of damage, you will need quick target acquisition to run away from many moves she throws at you in quick succession, as one hit can deal deadly damage. Remember to use a curse removal flask properly to remove curses reflected on you from her.

Uber Elder
Can potentially be easier than twinned malachai and uber atziri once you learn the mechanics. With at least 8k ES, you can take a wave of ice spears or 2 from Elder with or without flasks up, and a Shaper slam if you're lucky (while he's being cursed with increased effect of Enfeeble). However, there are a lot of moves and other events in this fight that punish you instantly if left unchecked. Check out Engineering Eternity's video guide on this fight to learn more about
it.

Legion encounters in maps
These encounters are generally very doable, as long as you run far from them when the timer counts down to 0. Do not let yourself get surrounded by the generals and their pawns or facetank their attacks as you will die quickly to repeated assaults from them. Try to find an open space and Contagion + ED to slowly kill them off. Tough map mods will make this much harder to get over with, but this affects basically all builds.

DELVE

The build has great potential to go very far in the Azurite Mine (Delve). At least depth +600 or even +1000 are doable, as long as you have enough experience with delving. You will not be invincible as the monster area increases and reach lv 83 (comparable to T16 maps), and skillful plays will be rewarded as there are very dangerous mods during each delve node, most notably "Monsters' damage penetrate x% player's elemental resistances", a lot of stacking damage mods (extra dmg as fire/cold/lightning, etc) and even difficult chambers, vaal outposts and cities at high depths and very challenging Delve bosses (Aul, Crystal King, etc).

Tips

1: Do not try to facetank rare monsters at high depths. Those have very high health pool and their attacks do very heavy damage. Make sure to have proper mitigations up (flasks, Enduring Cry, etc) and play around them.

2: Try sidestepping when you follow your crawler along the path, to avoid running straight into abyss monsters that slam dunk (which has potential to one shot depending on mods), and the likes.

3: Try using Contagion + ED more often to keep your ES at full, and have Vaal Discipline used at the right timing, when you take a big hit for example.

4: As you reach higher depths, monsters' dmg will lean more and more elemental (aside from Abyss monsters and some other low-tier monsters which still do a lot of physical damage with melee and projectile skills) and the majority of nodes damage is in the form of cold damage, so it is good to have a Sapphire flask with Chemist's prefix for more uses and your suffix of choice. Other elemental mitigation flasks include a Ruby and a Topaz flask if running any mods that say "extra dmg as fire/lightning" if you want to afford. This can be switched for your Basalt flask when you do Abyss chambers.

5: Keep all flasks up all the time when you're clearing. It's key to surviving and dealing more damage to burst through things more quickly.

6: For regular encounters such as Azurite, tomb, armor, currency nodes, position yourself so that you're not overwhelmed by monsters. Sometimes it is better to stand in corners and switch corners in quick succession while casting Contagion and ED to cover whole packs in the middle and in front of you.

7: Don't forget Pantheon choices! During Abyss chambers it's best to have Soul of Ralakesh (to prevent being maimed), while nodes with caustic ground can be countered with Soul of Shakari to deal with poison.

Bow/Staff Budget Crafting Guide

Before you can afford to craft the high-end bow as shown below, here is an alternative budget

Get a short bow (item level 50, normal rarity) same as the high-end bow, 5 links or 6 links for cheap

Use a Screaming Essence of Woe on it to make it rare and it will give you up to

Screaming Essence of Woe 75 - 84% increased Spell Damage
Deafening Essence of Woe 95 - 104% increased Spell Damage

And finally, craft +x% to non-ailment chaos damage over time multiplier
from your crafting bench.

If you can afford the 6L version of this bow and depending on your other gear, your damage should be enough to carry you up to Shaper.

Bow/Staff Endgame Crafting Guide

This is the currency you need to craft your high-end bow

First, you need a Short Bow, because it requires less Dex to equip and you won't need to get Dex on your gear

You can buy the bow for cheap or you can farm The Porcupine divination card (Google poe wiki if you want to know where it drops)

Now after you have the bow, you need to make it magic By using an Orb of Transmutation on it.

After you make it a magic item, you need to spam Orbs of Alteration to hit this roll: +1 to Level of Socketed Gems. The mod is very rare so you'll need to spam a lot to get it.

After you get +1 to Level of Socketed Gems on the magic item, you need to make it rare by using a Regal Orb on it.

Next step is just RNG xD. After u make it rare with (+1 to Level of Socketed Gems), and there will be other new added mods to the item, sometimes 2 mods and sometimes only 1. but we need the bow have only 1 mod, which is (+1 to Level of Socketed Gems), so you'll need to remove all other mods by using an Orb of Annulment.

But if you failed (removed the wrong mod), you need to start from scratch again. To remove all mods you need to use an Orb of Scouring. You don't need it if u got the right mod (+1 to Level of Socketed Gems) on your rare bow.

------------------------------------------------------

After you make a rare bow with 1 mod (+1 to Level of Socketed Gems), now the easy part is just using your crafting bench.

The mods You need from crafting bench are:

Can have multiple Crafted Modifiers (2 Exalted Orbs)

+2 to Level of Socketed Support Gems (2 Exalted Orbs)

36%/40% to Non-Ailment Chaos Damage over Time Multiplier (04 Chaos Orbs)

13%/16% increased Chaos Damage (3 Orbs of Alchemy)

16%/19% increased Cast Speed , 10% chance to gain Arcane Surge when you Kill an Enemy (4 Chaos Orbs)

Done! Now your bow is ready, GG, have fun and I hope you like the build.

NEW IDEA FOR CRAFTING GLOVES 3.7

this is the new gloves crafted for Damage. This will give the build about 400k - 500k extra Damage over time.
Get Elder base Fingerless Silk Gloves item level 80+
Make it 30% quality with Perfect Fossil

Use Orbs of Alteration to hit the following:
+16% to Non-Ailment Chaos Damage over Time Multiplier
Then Multi-craft other mods:
+x to maximum Energy Shield
+y% increased Energy Shield
Minions deal 20% increased Damage
Non-Vaal Skills deal 60% increased Damage during Soul Gain Prevention

Pros/Cons

Pros
+ Very High Damage output
+ Decently tanky, safe to play
+ Do Any map Mod Can do reflect and no leech maps without problems and most other mods (no regen map mod requires mana flask)
+ All Content
+ HC Viable
+ Insane Amount of Health Regen
+ Fast Clear speed, fun playstyle Watching mobs die a Screen away
+ League starting is very possible
+ Great boss killer, can do any boss

Cons
- Cannot reliably do no-regen maps, mana flask and clunkier playstyle
- Can be vulnerable to porcupines in maps (monsters that shoot spikes on death) and requires extra caution to play around them.
- Not quite beginner-friendly and takes time to learn all mechanics and gearing in the build

- Min-maxing with double corruptions is very expensive for high-end gear

GEM LINKS

All gems are at 20% quality (or more if you corrupt them into higher quality) unless otherwise stated. Most gems are best to have at lv 21, but usually lv 20 is enough unless otherwise stated.

ED/Bane Low Life version

Essence Drain
Our main single target skill and does a lot of damage especially when you have a multi-craft bow. Can be used for clearing with Contagion reliably for better aim. Don't spam this move, our mana pool is limited.

Efficacy
Even more damage over time applied on enemies and increasing all curses' duration.

Swift Affliction
Great boost for damage over time output

Void Manipulation
Great boost for damage over time output

Controlled Destruction
Another fitting gem to gives more damage for spells

Empower
Level 4 can be acquired, but level 3 is enough to take you far into the hardest contents, as it gives 2 more levels for our ED

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bane
Our main clearing skill and applying debuffs on enemies. 6L gives it respectable damage even against bosses. 3 curses are best for our ascendancy choices and application of up to 3 curses to maximize its power.

Arcane Surge
Gives mana regen and more global spell damage when you use Bane once. Keep Arcane surge at lv 6,7,8 when Bane reaches lv 20.

Temporal Chain
A very powerful curse that applies reduction in action speed, giving us more room to react to things

Enfeeble
Another strong curse that gives considerable defensive buff, reducing enemy's damage, accuracy and crit chance and crit multiplier.

Despair
A great offensive buff for us, as enemies take even more chaos damage when applied.

Efficacy
Even more damage over time applied on enemies and increasing all curses' duration.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blasphemy
Turns Temporal Chain into an aura, and we can curse hexproof enemies, so once enemies are close to us enough they are slowed down a whole lot.

Malevolence
A great aura to help increase damage over time and skill duration. No need 20% quality, though more quality gives more AoE, helping with further range.

Clarity
Our reliable source of mana regen, removing the need to get mana regen on gear at all. Keep it at a level you are comfortable with, to get more available mana.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another 2 auras we have, and these 2 will reserve our life to enable us to go low life.

Enlighten
ideally lv 4 is required to give you enough mana to use more than 2 skills at the same time in emergency situations.

Zealotry
An aura that gives more spell damage and creates consecrated ground for ES regen in boss fights.

Vaal Discipline
Our primary aura of survival that gives a lot of total ES. Vaal discipline is used for "oh shit" situations.

Blood Magic
Makes auras reserve life. Best to have it at lv 20, but you need strength requirement on gear (jewel/stygian vise belt).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Flame Dash
Our movement skill. The movement skill buff in 3.7 means flame dash becomes instant and so faster casting support is not mandatory.

Vaal Blight
A great vaal skill that hinders enemies, slowing them down even further when used, while also dealing solid damage. We only use the vaal version of the skill.

Contagion
A standalone gem to use in tandem with ED for maps/layouts with a lot of monsters in sight, clearing much faster than clicking Bane from pack to pack. Especially great in Delve and party play, as Contagion spreads to nearby enemies when your allies kill monsters. This gem setup version is mostly ED and Bane, so Contagion is a gem on its own.

Vaal Righteous Fire
If you prefer to go for even more offensive power, use it when it becomes active to burst down tougher enemies faster.

Abyssal Cry
Makes enemies you use this skill on explode when they are killed. This is a countermeasure against porcupine monsters, so only press this once you come across them. It has limited radius, so it is not a 100% guarantee on your safety.

Enduring Cry
Gives you endurance charges during maps and minor ES regen. Good for delving to be physically tankier at high depths.

The 6th aura we have isAspect of the Spider
(reserves mana), which makes enemies take more damage on each spider stack and applies another source of slow.

Note

If you do not wish to run Contagion in this version, you can opt to have Enhance Support (gives linked gem up to 24% more quality) linked with Temporal Chain and Blasphemy for another massive slow effect and move an aura gem elsewhere and use another Enlighten gem (2 total) linked with Malevolence. This will mean you will not use either Warcry gems and Contagion.

Total active skills to press (7)
ED, Bane, Contagion, Vaal Discipline, Vaal Blight, Flame Dash and a Warcry gem (or 5 without warcry and contagion, but leaves you more vulnerable to porcupines)

ED/Contagion Low life version

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just another way to utilize blasphemy for 3 automatic curses without having to do anything.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Immortal Call
For physical mitigation and elemental damage reduction, high level due to the change in Immortal Call in 3.7.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The final choice is Aspect of the Spider.

Total active skills to press (6): ED, Contagion, Flame Dash, Vaal Blight, Vaal Righteous Fire, Vaal Discipline

Note that this low life version deals less damage than ED/Bane low life version.

ED/Contagion CI version

Most gems are similar between each version. Refer to the Low life ED/Bane version to see what each gem does.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Intensify Gives more AoE and area dmg, a much better choice than Increased AoE support gem.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Spell totem A summoned totem that applies wither to enemies. Usually only use this in boss fights.

Wither A spell that applies hinder on enemies (slowing their movement speed like Maim from attacks).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note: Heretic's Veil is a helmet of choice for this setup, reducing mana reservation of curse gems while granting a lv 22 Blasphemy, saving a gem slot.

And finally, we have Aspect of the Spider .

Total active skills to press (7): ED, Contagion, Flame Dash, Vaal Discipline, Vaal blight, Spell Totem and a Warcry skill

ED/Bane CI version

to be released soon

EndGame Lowlife Gear 3.7

CI - Chaos Inoculation Gear 3.7

Flasks

Flasks best to have the Following 5 flasks

Witchfire Brew Stibnite Flask Gives more dmg boost during flask effect and smoke cloud to blind enemies that stand in the smoke.

Quartz flask Gives phasing, great for delve and getting through mobs, and chance to dodge certain attacks and spells

Sulphur Flask Gives ES regen and more damage

Basalt Flask More physical mitigation to patch up the weak spot of the queen

Quicksilver flask Gotta go faster

Flask Prefix Go for Chemist's, this allows you to spam flasks more often without running out of charges during mapping and delving

Flask Suffix Dousing (Ignite removal), Warding (Curse removal), Staunching (Bleed removal) and Heat (Chill and Freeze removal)

Jewels

If you cannot afford a Watcher's Eye Prismatic Jewel With
+x%to Non-Ailment Chaos Damage over Time Multiplier while affected by Malevolence

Gain +x% of Maximum Mana as Extra Maximum Energy Shield while affected by Clarity

any rare jewel with

x% inc max ES and chaos dmg/resistance/Strength

requirement can be obtained instead. An abyss jewel for stygian vise should give some flat ES amount, damage over time if possible, and even resistance or to fulfill strength requirement

My EndGame Very expensive Setup

Path of building Version of build 3.7

I think I'll do it next league, keep it updated!
Hey, what a nice build, always wanted to try Essence drain and this patch I might do it !

Now im just curious.. But if the case is you just need high spell damage wouldn't breath of the council then be better than your dagger? or does the increased damage over damage from the passive tree actually make the decay worth it?

Alright, im no pro.. but it just seems to me that 6% block doesn't really do that much for us?

And all your items is from standard League.. making most of your items legacy items and not very "new League" friendly. I have yet to see a dagger with more than 46% spell power in the harbinger League. And Damage wise comparing the 100%increased Chaos damage and Chaos skill duration. It just seems to me it would be the better choice.

But Again.. im all new to this build and aint no Expert that's why im asking.
Hi, I'm wondering where your strength comes from to support fortify and blood magic? I see a little on gear, but none on the skill tree. What am I missing? Thanks for the help :)

hello dud look the dagger more safe for this build we need this 6% block and whirling blades
useful and i have t1 spell damage in my dagger that all i need

and breath of the council not batter then my dagger he just ask me for unq item to use and i give him that item canwork with this build

But Again.. im all new to this build and aint no Expert that's why im asking.[/quote]

Any advice on how did you level this build? im thinking of starting a charcater on HCH and the safest ones are probably the ones using essence drain but im wondering how hard would it be to start from scratch this build with 0 currency on the league being a low life build and with the nerfs to CI
