38 minutes on Allocating Space (NON-Steam client)

Posting this as it should have nothing to do with downloading the patch. Everything that I can find has this pointed towards a Steam Update issue. I am not using steam.

this usually takes me well over an hour,like right now is been going for almost an hour and not even half way done yet (not using steam)

2 hours + for 40%
had around 10 min allocate with steam my download rate is around 500kb spikes to 3mb and lags from 0 to 30kb i guess first ppl are in act2 already FML FUA |

get rid of windows defender and payday2,
and defrag your system yesterday edit: mostly downloading around 400kb, spikes to the down every 5 second, spikes to the up every 1 minute i stay for longer than 3 second over 1 mb Last edited by starstouch#1870 on Aug 4, 2017, 4:22:30 PM

Hey,
Because the update is rather substantial, the 'Checking Resources' or 'Allocating Space' portion of the install/update can take awhile. This part of the installation process relies on your PC Memory and HDD/SSD performance. The best thing you can do here, is make sure your anti-virus software isn't slowing it down and to ensure the client is running with administrative rights. |

Patch serve issues from the start.. then an 1hr 32 minutes allocating disk space.... games up and i'm not even half way thru the download!

Download time is horrible 2-500kb with occasional jump to 2MB. I get better download speed from North-Korea jeez.
