Game is 100% unplayable. Freeze/DC to login (sometimes). Otherwise it just freezes. Since patch.

So my PoE is freezing whenever I load into a new zone, requiring a ctrl+alt+del kill process and a re-launch of the game. I have no idea what is causing this, and have already tried everything I can think of to stop it from occurring. It has been persistent for the last couple of leagues, and has been getting progressively worse. As of yesterday, it happens so frequently that I cannot even play. Lab is impossible.

I've already tried reinstalling the game, running pack check, running windows memory diagnostic, running the game on lower graphic settings, switching directx modes, repair installing Windows, among a few other things. So this is a bit of a long-shot, but if anyone has any idea why this could be happening to me, I'd like to hear it. I really want to play this league. I'm super excited for my build and the league is really cool. I'm unreasonably upset at the idea of not being able to play :(

Edit; Forgot to mention this has only been occurring to the point of making the game unplayable since Sunday, after the most recent minor patch.

Bump.

Game is completely unplayable. I just spent 20 minutes trying to progress a bit, and managed to make it as far as Imperial Gardens waypoint to the door to Sceptre of God. Every new instance loaded requires a full client restart. The game becomes unresponsive during the 5-10 minutes it takes to disconnect to the login screen, if it even gets that far - lately it hasn't been, I left it for 30 minutes and it didn't actually go back to login screen, despite hearing login music from the 30 second mark onward.

Oh, and apparently now I'm getting major lockups/freezes IN game as well, not just at load screens. Walking casually has in fact been causing the game to freeze, and require the ctrl+alt+del kill process.

do you start the game with any parameters? like the ones to prevent "delayed (asynchronous) loading of assets"?

you play using harddisks or ssd's?

does the games logfile have errors in when the game stalls? the logfile is in /poeinstalldir/logs/client.txt

No. I have tried messing with a few different parameters since the game became unplayable this sunday, but nothing makes any difference toward making the game playable. In fact, --noasync prevents me from even getting to the login screen (normally I can get this far).

Playing from hard drives. Have a good one and a not-so-good one - PoE does the same thing on both of them, ever since the minor patch on Sunday.

Had not actually checked the log file until now, but upon looking over it, there are two error lines that appear frequently, that coincide with some of the disconnect/freeze on loading;

[INFO Client 3816] Abnormal disconnect: Your authentication for instance transfer was invalid.
[INFO Client 7152] Abnormal disconnect: An unexpected disconnection occurred.

From what I can see, they do not always appear with every disconnect.

[WARN Client 6176] FMOD MISSING EVENT: event:/Sound Effects/Ambient/Waterfalls_Fires/Fire_Bigger_1.loop.oggSG

That one also appears a couple of times, but does not coincide with any connection losses.

Also worth mentioning is the fact that I leveled to 64 on Saturday, almost without a single issue, and then I wake up the next morning unable to login to Sarn Encampment, and spent the entire rest of my long weekend trying to solve the issue, as the game is now completely broken for me. I'm sure I didn't change anything while I was asleep, the only thing that changed was a small patch.
