Shield charge scales with Movement speed AND attack speed.
Also it's very reliable for stunning while in motion so you can SC>Faster Attacks>Fortify>Endurance Charge on Melee stun for quite a bit of mitigation on the move. Whirling blades is kinda oldschool imo. However it's more of a preference thing at this point. To me, however shield charge always seems faster because of the MS scaling. Also Shield charge's distance depends on where you click which is nice so you don't jump into crazy packs on accident. WB has a fixed distance for the most part. Honestly it all depends how big your dick is.
I have quite a massive dick myself so I have to use whirling blades but if I was a mini donger dog then I'd probably use shield charge. Uploaded an awesome Exsanguinate Freeze Explosion build on the forums - https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3508506

Depends on what you're looking for in a movement skill.
Shield Charge is best for clear speed mapping, and will let you move faster over bigger distances. Whirling Blades may be better in boss fights to move out of/dodge dangers. I would pick WB over SC in 9/10 scenarios, because I feel I have more control over my character with WB, and I have no desire to be faster than what I am with WB. " THIS!!! Right here is the answer... Pretty much exactly my sentiment. Its all about the build, how much APS i got, and a few other smaller factors but in the end if i can get away with it WBs is the one i like the most. I can kite a lot more consistently with WBs making it so things that are super dangerous like uber lab i can make it possible to never get hit. SC of course has its place and in some cases excels over WBs but its a preference thing at that point. SC i dislike because of how it gets caught on everything.
