Woohoo, 5 hour mute because I reacted to someone calling me a scammer!

This is such BS, try to post in trade chat buying exalts at a rate slightly under POEEX, get called scammer by many, shoot back defending myself, end up using the "F" word, and I end up getting a 5 hour mute for insulting a player. 5 hours I can't talk or party up all because some little girl can't handle a slightly lower rate than POE. Granted I rised to the bait, but when I report him for insulting my character by calling me a scammer infront of everyone, he gets to go off scott free of course.
Bah just ranting, can't blame the mod since it was caused by my own actions being tired of ignoring it and getting called scammer or whatever, but I think 5 hours is way too much time to be muted for defending myself. /rant over lol Last edited by pneuma#0134 on Feb 19, 2013, 2:07:44 PM

I'm not angry at the mod per say, I'm angry at the person calling me a scammer getting a rise out of me, and the length of the mute. The mod is only doing his job. I don't care if your mad at my post, I'm just ranting, if you don't like it leave like i got off the game for the next 5 hours.

Another mute complaint thread.
99.9% of these for all games tend to have more to the story than OP will acknowledge. ... Even if OP's version is accurate, the resolution is simple. Don't overreact. " ... to let them know the game isn’t going to be very fair from here on out."

I admited my faults. I got called a scammer and I used the "f" word against the guy that called me it and over reacted to his bait basically. Nothing left out about it. Even admitted it was my fault and all. My only problem is with the length of the mute, 5 hours for defending myself against someone that was baiting me because he didn't like I did go 1:1 for the POEEX rates, even after I told him on the website it is listed itself as not the official price guide.
So just ticked off that I can't play for 5 hours over a silly comment, a mute like that should be much shorter imho, or at least the person insulting me in the first place shouldn't get off scott free. |

I can tell you, in short, that it's 100% never acceptable to insult in retort. Just report, /ignore them, and move on. I also would not assume that the other person gets off "scot free". In fact, reporting them for flagrant violations almost guarantees they will not. EDIT: And to air dirty laundry, the duration of your mute was long because this is far from the first time you've been muted for raging at others.
