downgrade skill gem to meet current stats

I tried searching but kept coming up with 1000's of unrelated posts so forgive me as I assume this has been brought up before.
Are there any plans to make skill gems lower their effective level to meet your current stats? As a casual player it is really frustrating to find some better gear only to not be able to swap because I will lose the ability to use my gems due to lower stats. No. This is hardcore game where gems dont scale to your level.

try selling the gem to a ingame trader together with a orb of scouring?
gem will lose a level and stat requirements will lower themselves. other recipes just in case... age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

its there on wiki, but scour + gem is an easy way to delevel a gem down a level.
or regret + gem will delevel it all the way to level 1 |
