How the hell does trade chat work?

No matter what trade chat I join its the same people spamminglike i'm in trade 1 and they are all spamming then I go to trade 2 and they are there and then 3 and 4 and 5. Kept going until I hit 10 and then I went straight to 20 and it was the same people.

wth? I was trying to swap channels under the missguided assumption they were different channels with different people in them so i'd see different offers lol.

It the hell doesn't work at all. If you want to buy and sell stuff easily you'll need to use poetrade, there are tools around that automate the process of posting your merchandise on the forum even if you have a lot of different stuff to sell.

Yeah I was more looking for currency trades :P Got thousands of wisdom scrolls and other currencys I need to try and trade for chaos and fusings.

Right, you'd still want to try doing it over the forum. Or offer ridiculous rates in trade chat so flippers would buy from you.

I thought since all the threads were procurement ones that are horrid to search manually noone used the forums for trade?

For a game where trading is supposedly essential, PoE sure doesn't go out of its way to make it easy.

They post offerts on more channels so more ppl see thier offerts

when speaking about forums he meant posting items there so that poe trade item indexer can read them

I don't remember who said this but there are two uses for trade chat. Right click and ignore every one posting items and watch currency change rates until you can find a good deal.

Ignore literally every one who posts in trade chat so you get see a post every once and a wile from someone needing money or no idea what things are valued. Back when those ES crit gloves were two exalt I bought one in trade chat using this method for 12c

You have to remember to clear ignore list when you are done.

which is made by the same guy(s) who are running poe.trade. Just post an offer there with the ratio you want (like 160 Wisdom : 1 Chaos) and keep playing the game, if you offer good rates someone will eventually take you up on the offer. There are still not as many people using it as it deserves since it only took off a month ago but it definitely beats spamming trade chat for hours. You can also find other people's rates on there though I find most of them are skewed heavily towards favouring the seller.

As to the same items and rates getting spammed in every channel, most of these aren't actually humans going through every channel but bots or scripts (at least I hope so, because it would be incredibly sad to have someone sit in his hideout all day manually spamming trade chat with ridiculous offers).
