Take a stance about trading in global

As far as I know, trading in global is considered spam even if it's only 1 time. Yet I see the same people trading in global day in and day out with no apparent consequences. It seems odd that the penalty would be muting in global, while if their trade post worked, they would be PMed instead of continuing in global.

So GGG, please tell us your official stance on trading in global channels.

It's considered spam. Repot it and move along

Price checks are allowed though. So there is your loophole for trading in global.

Thanks Bex. I have been reporting it. It doesn't seem to stop people though.

I would assume support keep track of who is reported, and multiple reports about he saem person result in longer mutes/potentially bans at some point.

Trust me, things are better now with it only being occasional. You should have seen before there was a trade channel........

Mute should block their private messages as well, a lot of people see being muted for 5 mins as no big deal when they get a flood of private messages from one line of WTB/WTS.

^ What, indeed. Just because you type it in caps doesn't overlook the fact that you failed to define what issues you're referring to, let alone the "other" issues such a proposal would create.

More-on-topic off-topic: On a similar note to the OP, are there trade party notice boards yet? I kinda feel like they should be a thing if not, in a similar vein to separating trade spam from global chat.

I have no doubt that were such to exist, traders would just use the non-trade party notice boards to stand out and bypass the competition.

As an extension to my thought, if muting (or certain kinds thereof) also prohibited participation with noticeboards, and the separation was proactively moderated, then I have no doubt that such would not be the case.

At least, not the case as much as the global-and-trade chat separation was.
