Stun and damage caused by items

Is it possible to be stunned by damage caused by items such as Heartbound Loop and Scold's Bridle?

I tried summoning skeletons while wearing Heartbound Loop but even though I would lose chunks of health after going over the threshold of skeletons but no matter how many times that happened I would not get stunned.

I really cant fathom why this damage shouldnt stun you. I find the interaction between Cast When Stunned and Heartbound Loop/Scold's Bridle is something that should be encouraged and could make for interesting builds, and shouldn't all damage besides DoTs and reflect be able to stun?

Probably because it doesn't say 'your spells hit you for % of mana cost as damage'. I don't think Scold's was meant to be used that way, it would enable a CoS build but would suck for regular use, so I can't really support it.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Considering that the damage is physical(Can be reduced with armor, endurance charges etc.) for both Scold's Bridle and Heartbound Loop and there being other ways of negating stuns aswell(Health, stun avoidance, Unwavering Stance) I do not really see the problem with it in normal use.
Sure, it's a problem that can be handled, but it's still a problem where there's no need for one.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

So from reading Mark_GGG's respones to that other thread I understood that the issue lies in that stuns you would cause to yourself would be able to cause an endless loop.

Well couldnt that in the case of Heartbound Loop atleast be solved via making the dying minion deal the damage to you instead? That could actually promote the item as a CWS-build enabler while avoiding the issue of self-inflicted stuns. Although this might not be a topic to be discussed on this sub-forum but rather on the Feedback and Suggestions sub-forum.
