wand or dagger for CI Crit Arc Witch ?
|
Opinions ? And why please. I currently use this and I'm wondering if a dagger would increase my dps.
THanks, | |

Well, it obviously depends on the mods of the individual items. But ideally a wand is better, since daggers can't roll cast speed.

Yeah , but they can add 80% glob crit chance instead of cast speed..what about a dagger with 80% global crit chance ..around 70-80 % crit chance and 50-60 spell dmg.Would that beat my wand ? I don't want to spend a fortune just for experimenting this thing ..
Thanks | |

wanted to ask you if your build has enough dexterity to use a dagger,
but it seems that the 80% global crit daggers actually have lower dext req than some others Even the unstoppable force can not break the unbreakable wall.

" Not quite ..but I'll manage somehow IF , it would be better and increase my damage considerably .. | |
" +80% global crit chance = 4% additional arc crit chance so 4% of your crit multiplier is your dps+% I'll assume 250% crit multi 250/4%= 10 80% global crit chance will up your dps by 10% ~~Comparatively~~ this is napkin math 19% cast speed = .2375 additional arc casts per second disregarding spell echo which would be a 12.30% dps increase I believe. In association with spell echo I believe Cast Speed (or wands/scepters) are superior to daggers in regards to your question. Here in lies the scenario in which daggers outmatch wands for crit casting... both weapons will roll these suffixes: spell crit chance crit multiplier __________________________ Cast speed on wands takes up the last slot __________________________ For Daggers you can choose to go for a resistance or Mana regeneration% Increasing Cast Speed can bring along the inability to sustain your mana pool... so... even though you have about 3% more dps with cast speed over 80% implicit global crit chance with daggers...daggers CAN save you from having to stack more mana regen somewhere else. Cast Speed dps and mana consumption % increase scale similarly, however spell echo kind of takes care of that but that goes for the dagger as well. There are a lot of things to consider as to which is ultimately better; personally I like the idea of extra crit chance and better mana sustain, but you might enjoy really fast spells and harder to sustain mana. Now that I think about it, cast speed becomes less effective the more you have of it in comparison to raw base damage.. like if you start casting 100 arcs a second but only doing 1 dmg every time; the multiplicative handshake stops being beneficial for cast speed. This imbalance of speed and power is quite easily achieved with a faster casting and spell echo combination. In the end I think the cast speed multiplier is more abundant than the crit multipliers; making crit more beneficial when you can supply substantial cast speed elsewhere. Final Verdict: I don't know, but I do know the differences are far too small to matter; each benefit each other; but the ability to sustain your mana tilts highly in favor of daggers. ...
