Default PA loot doesn't always work
|
This bug is getting annoying now. I create a new party, I have default loot in the options set to PA. The party window also shows PA loot. But still the loot is SA. Happens maybe only once on every 100 instances but still it's annoying to lose a currency/uniq because you thought you had PA set...
I have this problem since it was introduced not too long ago. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=332427524 Happens roughly once every ~10 hours of gameplay. Last edited by silverdash#0964 on Oct 26, 2014, 6:30:57 PM

Another default-pa-related bug.
It's set to pa, it also defaults to pa in maps and such as long as I create the party outside of the map/instance. But for this specific master mission all of a sudden the loot is SA... The party screen shows PA and I default to PA and it was PA before the mission and I'm the leader so nobody changed it. Yet the game just randomly changes it back to SA sometimes (w/o updating the gui)... This really pisses of some party members. It's rare but it happens. The fact that the GUI shows PA while it is actually SA is bad enough (when changing it inside a map). But when PA is randomly set to SA by the server while not telling any client... THAT is the worst. bug report: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=337668322 Last edited by silverdash#0964 on Nov 6, 2014, 11:44:30 AM

Allocation is set at the time the instance is created. If you created the instance before you created the party, the default is still short allocation. You can't change an instance that's already in existence. Masters with separate areas are always allocated whatever the parent area is. If you are in a SA map and find a Zana, her spawned area will also be SA. there is no possible way to change that. Same goes for daily missions. If you start a daily mission before you create a party, the instance the portal takes you to will be SA. If that instance happens to be Zana's crumbled lab, the map she opens from there will be SA. Doesn't matter what your default allocation is or what you change it to. Once the instance is there, it can't be changed.

What you describe is not what happened. The Tora you see is a daily. Was not started from Zana. And we created the party before I even spoke to her.
She was part of my master-chain (my 4 masters). But I believe that I know what caused it... It is related to the default-pa bug. So my hideout instance was probably where the party was created. And the default-PA loot bugs (still SA, known bug) and that probably caused it. Because if my hideout is SA, then Tora will also be SA I suppose... I did everything correct though. I hope they fix it soon. All this item-ninja-ing for random masters and even the first daily of a chain... Last edited by silverdash#0964 on Nov 6, 2014, 12:47:43 PM

In that case your screenshots don't really show anything. In the future it might (maybe) help if you had your overlay map on so the allocation of the area would be visible.

Oh I thought that the /bug report has all the information. Including what loot type, client data, recent chatlogs, level-data, server-data, etc.
I just saw that this issue is not on the known issues list though. I guess that they don't update that list too often. But I remember a GGG poster stating that they are aware of problems regarding the default-loot type somewhere. Last edited by silverdash#0964 on Nov 6, 2014, 2:32:51 PM

" there have been several reports but no one could really prove a bug. the loot allocation mode of a instance is shown in the instance overlay's right top corner if you press tab. if it is set to permanent loot and allocatable drops (uniques, rares and some types of normal items) allocated for you in the next instance can be taken by a party member within the 5 minutes allocation timeout, it's a bug. pls make sure nobody has died or left the instance because in that case you can't say that it was allocated to you in the first place. if you can show a stream or images that you have set the party allocation mode to permanent loot and the next created instance (map or area) shows a short allocation mode in the instances overlay it's a bug. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
