Marauder (Gameplay) = boring?

Since the last 2 weeks I am playing PoE. In the past i was a big d2 classic fan and i loved to play the barb. When i start to play PoE it was clear for me to play the marauder. But now after 2 weeks i have to say that the gameplay of the marauder is very boring. All the skills of the marauder are very statical and there is nearly no action. I am missing a skill like the good old whirlwinde in d2. So my question is now: Does other ppl also feel like that? NOTE: I know my english is not very well. there are no marauder specific skillgems or passives.
so you might mean that strength based skillgems are boring and... id agree (especially about the first ones). but then again you are never retricted to strength only gems. |

Hopefully the next patch will address this somewhat. I agree, there isn't much reason to play the marauder past the first difficulty (if you can even stand it that long).

I had played the marauder until act2 2nd diffeculty. I really like the marauder. Just the skills must be changed a little bite. because at the moment you have to do always the same.
For example: I see a group of monsters. I am running to them. Than i use 3 times sweep. For 100% not all monster of the group will die because you always miss some. So i will move 2m and than i press again 3 times sweep. now if i am lucky all monsters are dead. If it's not like that then i have to run after 1-2 single target... I think for a low lv char this would be ok but not in the endgame |

I actually like how the marauder is. This is how I play him.
* I get a visual on a mob. * Cast Enduring Cry 1-2 times. * Leap Slam into the mob * Sweep/cleave 1-3 times * Clean house with flicker strike. * Phase Run/Loot/run to next mob Hardly boring to me. It sure beats being a witch or ranger just spamming one attack... That really isn't fun to me. My only drawback to the melee classes is that when I am holding down my attack button, if the monster dies I stop attacking and have to click again. This leads to a rediculous amount of clicking. He is also underpowered compared to the other classes. I think he is exactly where he should be as far as killing speed. I think the other classes are just overpowered and need to be slightly nerfed. 9.3 is supposed to fix all this though so don't worry! IGN: YeahCrit

" Witch and ranger have plenty of attacks they do. Each one has a different value based on the situation. So it takes a little thinking as to what skill best fits the situation. I may spam a little. I think that speaks more of my play style then the skill selection though. I think everyone needs to look and see if it is the skills that are the problem. Or how they play that is the problem. ----------------------------------- Patches are going to change so much. Adding skills, changing skills. It will make the characters more customizable. Making it possible to make a character that is more likely to fit your play style. |

" This is how I play my witch: * Move to next screen. * Cast Shock Nova 3-4 times. * Mana flask. * Loot. * Repeat. :P 0.9.3 will drastically change the melee experience, hopefully succeeding in making it more effective and fun. Extra skills and passives should also add a lot of flavor to all classes. Closed Beta/Alpha Tester back after a 10-year hiatus.

Actually i had the most fun while playing marauder (and duelist)
My play style was: phase leap warlord cleave cleave / double double pot move/leap infernal infernal double/loot and vs zombies i also cast endura witch/templ was like: endura slow crit spam nova +spark/ice bolt loot ranger: slow + other curse double double/ explode explode loot Grim_Reaper lvl 67 RIP

I played a Marauder, and he was extremely boring. I WILL SMASH YOU WITH MY HAMME-- wait I missed what
THEN I WILL SMASH THE GROUND AND RIP THE EARTH ASUNDE-- wait you didn't take any damage from that how did you not take any damage from the huge gaping chasm under your feet Witch is all "FREEZE AND BURN AND ELECTRICI-- uh... be... electrocuted or shocked or something I DON'T CARE YOU'RE DEAD" So I will just go Witch and I will never miss again, unless it's my fault. I really think that's the way melee should play; I shouldn't miss because the game's mechanic says that I've rolled a miss, I should miss because I'm an idiot and didn't explicitly tell my guy to attack that monster, instead clicking a space half a metre to his left. IRON MAN
