Hi
There is no visual animation (at least, I never noticed) for shield block so all you can do to have some cofirmation of how much block is working is use a Tempest Shield skill gem to have some visual input. |

There's no block animation, the only visual block effect is the ministun (duration defined by character's block & stun recovery), accompanied by specific sound.

try the unique armour that has 50% chance to create consecrated ground on block /so you can see 1/2 of the blocked attacks/ or use tempest shield or shield with reflect damage :)
