Why is the economy on this game broken and how to solve it

Why does everyone say the economy on Standard is broken? I don't have much wealth, play there, but find the economy very healthy. I can't afford super expensive stuff, but that doesn't mean the economy is broken, it means I am not rich. I only started in December there is no logical reason I should be rich. But I just need chance a Siege Axe, or sell a Mortal Hope - and I am set to gear toons decently for months. A lot of nice equipment with useful stats cost like 10c - 3ex.

Even the small stuff, Alts and Jews convert to fuse which easily sell for like 40-42 per exalted.

In all honesty I think it's a very healthy economy and don't understand why so many people say it isn't. The only thing I can even come up with is people equate not being able to afford a legacy Shavs/Kaoms with a poor economy - which is far from the case. That's supply and demand at work perfectly.

I hate it when people post paragraphs of rares in trade. The reason it doesn't sell is because we all pull the same shit. The stuff may be good gear but we'll all come across it eventually so it's relatively worthless.

Also, to the people who promo their stuff as "GODLY!!!" or "INSANE!!!" etc....pls know what these terms really mean before you use them. half the time I look at items described this way and go "meh". If they are so "GODLY!!!" or "INSANE!!!" then why are you selling them?

Not fooling anyone. Even a nubcake smells this lame sales bait a mile away.
Just lower price op. Or do some bartering. Would like to see these 20c items though.

Oh, and I guess I'm proof of a middle ground (well almost) standard player. I have a few mid-low tier uniques (legacy bor, alphas, rotp etc) and 8 pure ex. Still poor but I'm not far from being able to start increasing wealth. Broken economy is broken it would seem but still not hard to achieve high tier uniques for anybody.

People tend to understand how supply works in PoE's economies. However, they often act completely clueless about demand.

Here's how to think about demand. In the league you're in, imagine all of the players. What kinds of things would they most likely be buying? How long has the league been going on? What is their average degree of progression in terms of gear? What types of items will be below them? Still too high above them? Just at the right level for an upgrade to aspire to?

When one properly considers demand, a lot of the mystery is taken out of the economy. For example, the price of Kaom's Heart has been steadily rising in Ambush. Several weeks ago, the price of non-legacy Kaom's in Standard was much higher than the Ambush version, and although the Standard and Ambush prices are getting closer, the Standard price is still higher. If one looks at these situations purely from a supply perspective, it's counterintuitive... but factor in demand, and it makes perfect sense.

I don't overprice either. People want to buy everything for 10C, if the item is 20c they say they can't afford it. I have been 3 days in a row online and all the answers I get is that they are broke.

Just lower it again til you get the cheapest b/o in the market, then you would appeal more from others competitor and wider range of potential buyer.
I don't think players are actually broke but very picky in the b/o of the item set in market.

Advice is, just lower your item, don't stone it at fix price or same with others, then give a week or so and online more often, I'm sure some odd items can be sold too at cheaper price.

Mediocre items do not have their worth measured in exalts. Learn that and youll be able to sell things quickly and easily.

How can you possibly say you're not overpricing it? Do you understand how an economy works?

WE determine what your item is worth, not you. If you're asking 20c for something, and everyone you talk to tells you they won't pay more than 10c, then guess what? THE ITEM IS ONLY WORTH 10C!!!

That is strange. I have a perfect legacy aegis aurora. The highest ANYONE ever offered me for it was 5 exalts. Now the new (nerfed) aegis aurora is constantly selling for more than 5 exalts.

I have more stories but that is by far my favorite.

Basically this so called precious economy boils down to a popularity contest.

OP: I can only offer you my opinion as advice. I do not want to spend even 5 chaos on anything that is not level 60+. I don't even look to buy anything until act 3 cruel. I think almost everything is overpriced. If you want an exalt from me, that item better be useable indefinitely.

I see who are the people posting saying there is not even a problem, people that are selling 5 Soultaker, 2 Koams some other elite ultra expensive items.

GG

You're playing in a game where everyone wants to be a seller and no one wants to buy. Good luck.
