How to kill Oak as ranged? (cruel)

im elemental bow build. i kite him but he just jumps at u. i also use decoy totem but that doesnt do shit. i run out of pots then have to tp out. or die. u cant tp back in or it resets the fight.

so how do u kill oak solo as ranged?

Puncture or Poison Arrow should do the trick. Just takes a few tries (for me at least) to get the timing just right.

It takes a long time. I use fire trap and ranged totem with split arrow. I also try to keep him in my poison arrow cloud when I can. And I kite around the tent so he doesn't jump on you so much.

If you run around and dodge him, running behind tents and doing long arcs around the perimeter, you can actually lose him and begin to continuously range him down with him seldomly advancing on you.

Havent done this since just before OB, no idea if it still works, although it should, I have read nothing about it being a fixed issue.

Does he get any new skills on Cruel? I was pretty undergeared when I got to him on my ele archer on normal and basically I just ran around in circles for 10 minutes shooting at him once every time he stopped to shout. He can't hit you with his leap while you are moving. It took forever but once I realized that was what I had to do I didn't take any more damage and he eventually died.

Having some health regeneration over time doesn't hurt while you're kiting around either.

This. Might be worth it to grab a life regen passive, some regen gear, or life on hit gear. It's a very veryyyyy veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy slooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwww fight as ranged. The more health you can regen the better so you don't run out of pots.
