10 Reasons Why Dark Souls 2 > POE
" GL playing hardcore in DS2 I'm a forum warrior, i was born to post, raised to defend my league. Now my post has been removed, chained and exiled by mods who Ban. Ban is my brother; i do not fear it. I see it in the eyes of men and beasts that i troll. It will take me to play the actual game when i am ready and i am not ready. " Oh you mean like the numerous people trying the challenge runs in order to get the rings? It's been done. A guy tried it last night on NG+3, no bonfire, no death run...unfortunately he died on the last boss. Hardcore is viable in DS, it just takes skill & not gear. |

I know i will get jumped by a lot of people for this, but here is my opinion:
Demon's Souls + the successors Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2 suck (in a bad way). There should be more games like DMC and less games like DS. |

" It takes watching videos and reflexes. | |
" No problem in that, some ppl like to mash buttons & some like precision. |

" yup you will be jumped on because you literally don't explain why in your opinion they suck. just saying they suck makes it seem like to everybody you're trolling. the souls series is literally like the epitome of amazing game design |

They're sort of similar and you could say DS does certain aspects that they both share better, but the things is they're really different when it comes to the design philosophy of the game. POE is a hack 'n slash loot hunt where a lot of the power comes from items and planning the build before hand and less on how much you're doing while fighting, while DS is the opposite, there's much less emphasis on planning and items and much more on the actual combat. I'm not saying you can get away why being utterly terrible at combat in POE or just no planning whatsoever on DS but they way the games were designed are really different. Also, nobody really makes games without having builds anymore, CoD has builds, so saying they're similar based on designing builds isn't really fair.
As for desync, it's because DS was designed to be played offline, so all decisions are made in house. When it comes down to it, comparing DS, and PoE, is like comparing apples and oranges, sure they're both fruit, but ones citrus, and ones not. I think DS is much more like fighting games than the Diablo style hack 'n slash ARPG. |

" That's just an opinion. For one person it's amazing, for an other, not so much. You'd be surprised that there are a fair number of people who dislike DS. As to why, i find it boring, including the battle system and so on. Just because there are tons of people labeling it as "fantastic" "incredible" and so on, doesn't mean it is, cause opinions. It's the same with The Last of Us, i found the game to be aesthetically amazing, the story was very good, but when it comes to the gameplay itself, not so much. The AI in some parts is unbelievably stupid, and there is a certain notion of repetitivenes. I actually played it till the end to see how the story progresses, but i was amazed it was given like 10/10 everywhere, whereas i think at most it's 9/10. Frankly the OP and his attitude reek of much the same anti fanboism that is common among hard core drug abusers when they get clean. Their only way to maintain being clean is to take on such an extreme prejudice that anyone who so much as smokes a joint will be harassed with an endless tirade of how drugs are bad.
Frankly I have been pretty impressed with PoE since I started last month. Its a great FREE to play ARPG that dabbles in the MMO realm, its pretty unique and why anyone would use any game other then the Torchlight series as some kind of comparison is beyond me. Now Ive not played the game franchise the OP mentions, but it from what I have seen of it in reviews has far more in common with games that are 1st/3rd person action games. To even be in the same category to be compared to PoE it would have to be a top down 2D hack and slasher with nothing to do in game other then hack and slash. This is partly why they dont add so called real crafting, or other more RPG like elements, because they actually hurt an ARPG more then help it. I guess I am an odd duck around here though I didnt start PoE thinking it would be my only or even main game. Its just another FTP game I can enjoy playing when the mood to play and ARPG hits and I want a slightly different world then that of Torchlight 2 or The Adventures of Van Helsing. ARPGs are certainly all alot alike in basic concept, its making them enjoyable to play through from beginning to end that is always the challenge. In that I think PoE is pretty up there as I have dabbled in many ARPG I didnt even bother to finish over the years. |

Hard to believe OP is NOT trolling.
