Due to chaos degen pools having a fun party whilst killing my minions i find it easier to take the ranged guy first :)

I'm a bit curious, was this worlds first Atziri kill by a summoner after the Evangelist nerf?
I have not heard of anyone who has done it since :)

I got all the gear too, midnight, Mont, Shavs I 6L it myself, 7 auras, bla bla bla, on and on and on, and just don't bother with all that for this. You're guys are gunna die. Don't snap. About the only pets that will live for most of it are evangelists with faster casting - duration - increased AoE.

It's pretty simple;

Throw all the snap away for this, socket your pets in a method where you can resummon them, and just take it slow. I actually think a major problem with this, is most summoners don't actually have a 6L past their Tabulas, and can't actually link their shit if they need to. You need to for this. You need to cause they are going to die. All the minion gear in the game is not going to save them, and neither is something silly like Necro Aegis. This is an MI fight for summoner. Zerg all your shit at her with tons of minion damage/HP cause both gems work with MI.

Here's a trick with Raging Spirits;

Bind them to mouse 1.
Then, hold mouse down to run around as normal.
Then, tap shift when u want to cast one.

This allows you to have almost no-stopping on your movement, and Raging Spirits are heat-seekers with almost as much HP as zombies. Yes, really. Look it up. (lvl 20 zombie is 2450hp base, 20 spirit is 1960 base. Skeletons for comparison are 1143 base).

Take MI, and just zerg those bastards at her non-stop for an effortless jaunt, if you're good at dodging. Put em in a voideye, or link them with Minion HP/DMG for more MI damage. Zombie/Raging Spirit MI's are big damage, especially with tons of them.

Forget all the snap. That's the most important part. Your guys are going to get wasted, don't fight it. Just summon more. Packs of skeletons work too, just keep summoning them with MI. MI zombies at her, whatever. Just keep throwing pets on her. This is the point where you realize snap shot/permanent summons are not the answer.

Have you killed her as summoner since evangelist nerf, gr00grams?

Having recently finally found a couple sacrifice at midnight fragments, I figured I might give Atziri a crack with my lvl 83 self found (ie crap gear) CI summoner.

After reading this thread, think I might be better of just selling the darn frags.

By the way what was the evangelist nerf? Missed it.

If you think a summoner is hard, try a detonate the dead build.
Near impossible because of her resists.

The nerf is that the shields have reduced duration and not so frequently casted (meaning: its not up 100% of the time even with Inc.duration gem). Secondly, the shield doesnt protect from ground effects such as flameblast.


And to give a commend regarding "gr00grams" post. With Necromantic Aegis with Saffels i had to resummon 2 or 3 zombies in total during the fight. I don't use MI as my lvl 25 Zombies live through anything with this build and they hit insanely hard (each phase ending within 15sec) so all i do is run in a circle and curse or put spelltotem+sum skellies for extra targets to the boss or rejuvenation totem if i think its worth it. This way i dont have to bother anything, also this type of build makes me able to at a more precise way control my minions to kill the trio-boss in the correct order.

Also, I do wonder, have you ever killed Atziri after the Evangelist nerf? If not, give your build a try, I'm sure it will work out fine, I just don't see you getting past the Trio-Boss.
And finally I will comment the "DON'T FUCKING SNAPSHOT" as you so eloquently put it. My snapshotting affects my zombies via having 4 big ones and roughly 20% more dmg some armour and 2% life regen/sec, do not forget that these stats are ADDITIVE not getting multiplied by the passive nodes. I can live without that for my zombies. Also, if i remove spelltotem+sum skellies which is just a bonus for the trio-boss i can still have Evangelists with the supported gems i require them to have making snapshotting a mere bonus for my minions. It is not mandatory to manage Atziri, but it helps.




The main problem i see with summoners is that due to the Evangelist nerf which HAD to come imo. We do lack certain potentials in regards of surviving without losing to much fire power. It will be interesting to see how GGG will handle this issue.

Curious, do you use the Vaal summon skellies gem as well? Helps me big time against tough bosses, but not sure it will do much good vs atziri since probably only one use, and I expect she'll melt them all pretty quick.
