"This can't be related to the patch or the patching process, as neither have begun yet. The patching won't begin until this afternoon. As Bunnu said, this sounds like you're having some connection issues. You could talk to your ISP, or post in the Technical and Account support forum - preferably with a WinMTR output that would help people identify where between your client and the servers the issues are originating.
