Since mana leech was nerfed, should some skills have mana cost lowered?

Yes I can invest more in mana but what do I get? Just the ability to cast my spell.

With EB, investing in more mana gets me Arctic Armor, a tremendous amount of effective health from MoM and a free gem slot.

With BM you can stack lots of life and life regen nodes. You know those things that are very important in this game. You get to reserve 100% of your mana.

Maybe I should just use this. I just need a fart sound micro for when I crap out 3 different spells at 100 times per second.



People are just scratching the surface with the possibilities of this gem. Don't tempt me to make a CoC build because then GGG would finally have to nerf it :-P

No, it was not. To leech successfully with just 2% you needed very high damage and still some mana regen. Damage doesn't come from thin air. It comes from gear and skill nodes. It's called investment in build. It's how the build was executed.

pure casters are viable. but CoCS builds are simply so much better..

and how do they manage mana? 300 int = 150 mana. add some from gear and 1-2mana regen nodes + clarity and it is all right

i remember Lioneyes Glare and people not understanding why that 100 mana is there. Lioneyes not only is a guaranteed ~300 dps bow but it practically solves any mana issues due to that flat mana (ofc this is edge case, not a solution to mana problems)

previously it was '2% mana leech and you are get to go', all skills had the same, minimal, cost because you just leeched mana back and getting more damage solved cost issues.. quite one dimensional if you ask me

maybe if you play eb. for me as CI freezepulser 140% tree mana regen, 130% from gear, 20 lvl clarity & 430 int is still not enough to sustain casting my lmp fp without using flasks. it costs 103 mana/cast at 3 casts/sec. and I don't even use faster casting.

100 mana yet people would go BM because it was still better than mana.

i like when people mindlessly slap multistrike and faster attack on a skill and then wonder why it costs so much. but deeps go up!

what i do not like are absurd mana costs of skills like Elemental Hit. ggg - WHY?!?


BTW, Multistike is a pretty mana-effective gem, as it spends mana once per THREE attacks. Faster attacks, GMP, Chain and WED are probably the most mana-consuming gems.

And yeah, players invest 0 nodes into mana, have no mana rolls on their gear, and expect to leech enough mana. Or, they split their damage into gazillion pieces with GMP/Chain (while skyrocketing mana cost) and then state "mana sucks". Well, you know, chain isnt a must-have gem for any skill, it isnt a very good support even, it's really good only if you want to avoid oneshots from reflect :).
