Granite flask with 100% evasion
Im posting this here because something is quite unclear for me and hoping anyone has a straight answer for me.
If I am using Iron reflexes which converts all evasion into armor and I use this flask: would it bring me the same amount of armor as if it was a 100% increase armor usage effect on it? :) not sure where this topic belongs so if it is in the wrong place please move it to where its supposed to be :) thanks in advance: Diskmaskin |

Lets do some math
you have 2000 armor 1000 from armor 1000 from evasion. Granite gives 3k armor okay so we have 4k armor from just armor giving 100% more evasion will give you 2k armor from evasion You will end up with 1000 Armor + 3000 granite = 4,000 armor from armor (1000 evasion as armor)*2 = 2,000 armor from evasion Total - 6,000 armor for granite with 100% increased evasion If you got 100% increased armor however, the stats you have would be as follows (1000 ar + 3k granite)*2 = 8,000 armor (1000 ev as armor)*2 - 2,000 armor Total = 10,000 armor. for granite with 100% bonus armor
Conclusion
Get a granite flask with increased armor. even a crappy roll will be better than that one there. On the other hand, with Iron Reflexes I recommend getting the evasion flask (name?) and getting increased evasion on that. that would be superior.

Armour does not benefit from Increased Evasion, so 100% Increased Armour is always way better when using gear with Armour and/or Granites.

My question here is how it interacts with Iron Reflexes. I see two possible implementations:
1. It's implemented before Iron Reflexes. Sort of. Iron Reflexes says your DEX isn't counted towards Evasion, so it calculates your Evasion based on level only. Assuming Level 70, that's 260 Evasion. That Granite Flask then doubles your Evasion Rating, so you jump to 520 Evasion. Iron Reflexes then converts your Evasion Rating to Armor, so you get +260 extra Armor from the increased Evasion (the 520 minus the 260 you are already getting without the flask's effect). Add in the base 3000 you get from the flask's implicit effect, and you get 3260 more Armor for the duration of the flask's effect. 2. It's implemented after Iron Reflexes does it's conversion. With Iron Reflexes, your Evasion Rating is 0. Multiply that by 2, and you still get 0. In this case, the increased Evasion Rating effect on the flask is a waste, as it's doing nothing for you. Which of these is correct? |

1
^ Still correct... so far as the question goes. It of course gets more complicated if you have % increased armor. Last edited by KG31459#1353 on Mar 10, 2014, 9:14:31 PM

Neither.
Conversion happens before multipliers. IR Converts your Evasion Rating to Armour Rating, and multiplies it by Increased Eva + Increased Armour + Increased Armour/Eva * More Armour. |

With Iron Reflexes, you may be better off using a Jade Flask (depending on your passives and other flasks), as it benefits from Armour bonuses and Evasion bonuses.

Why not both?
They don't have the same effect so you can use both flasks at the same time. |
