Lightning Arrow + Frenzy Build : Ideal for newbies!

Really struggled to find a good ranger build when I first started out. Hopefully this should help give people an idea on what direction to go.
Pros -Strong at all stages of the game -Fairly cheap -Mixed damage -Safe -Great Solo and in groups -Able to "outplay" -Great single target DPS -Best waveclear Cons -Requires awareness -You actually have to aim -Kiting is important (sometimes) Passive Tree Level 30 Level 60 Level 90 Bandits This is largely down to personal playstyle. I have listed the options to choose from. Normal Help Oak/Kill all Cruel Help Oak/Help Kraityn/Kill all Merciless Help Kraityn Gear The stats we are looking for on our gear : Physical Damage Health Evasion Elemental Resistances Attack Speed Critical Chance + Mult Elemental Damage Aura's You should be running at least one aura at all times once you are in merciless. (pref earlier depending on your mana issues). I have listed them in order of usefulness. Swap them around depending on what your gear is good at and what it is weak at. Make sure you have your aura's LINKED to a reduced mana gem. Grace Hatred Haste Purity of Elements Links and Spells Frenzy This is your single target DPS. It's damage is 100% physical so beware of phy reflect mobs. 3Link Frenzy - Faster Attacks - Physical projectile attack damage 4Link Frenzy - Faster Attacks - Blood Magic - Life leach 5Link Frenzy - Faster Attacks - Blood Magic - Life leach - Physical projectile attack damage 6Link Frenzy - Faster Attacks - Blood Magic - Life leach - Physical projectile attack damage - Added fire Lightning Arrow This is your multi target DPS. It's damage is split between physical and lightning. 3Link Lightning Arrow - Lesser multiple projectiles - Faster Attacks 4Link Lightning Arrow - Lesser multiple projectiles - Faster Attacks - Life gain on hit 5Link Lightning Arrow - Lesser multiple projectiles - Chain - Life gain on hit - Blood magic 6Link Lightning Arrow - Lesser multiple projectiles - Chain - Life gain on hit - Blood magic - Elemental proliferation Bear Trap This is a nice addon to the build. It deals incredibly high physical damage and locks the target in place for a period of time. Very good for kiting or running away! 2Link Bear Trap - Added fire damage 3Link Bear Trap - Added fire damage - Culling strike 4Link Bear Trap - Added fire damage - Culling strike - Bear Trap Cast When Damage Taken 4Link Cast when damage taken - Molten shell - Rejuv/Decoy totem - Enfeeble My current gear <-not optimal just like the rarity! Thanks for writing this; it is working well for me both solo and in party. Before I got red links for Blood Magic + Life Leech, I think using clarity/partying with someone with clarity helps a lot for keeping up DPS.
By any chance, could you update the passive tree for the update? | |

Love the idea behind this build! fairly new to the game and tried for some thing like this on my first toon but it went horribly wrong lol, Been looking for a La/Frenzy build guide ever since!
Great guide and would be great if you could update the passive tree as most of the other La/Frenzy guides are either out of date or REAL expensive gear needs. Thanks in advance Spar | |
