Please help 1h mace / sheild question

Hey guys this is my first char i went 1 h mace/ sheild templar and i am now worried due to not knowing what i was doing i ruined my character spec by placing points into spots without and planning or knowledge. Is there any way to save my character and still go into a viable build for late game ? OR is it ruined ? I really want to stick to one character as it is hard for me to replay or restart a char in any game lol !
