hyperboles, hyperboles and more hyperboles...

pictures are worth a thousand words, and videos a million.

So I want to see a video of you going afk watching tv not moving your character in a double boss JV with -max res, extra lightning damage and fleet; obviously no flask popping business either, I doubt you do that when you watch TV

See "AFKing for fun at bosses" section for an AFK Jungle Valley Double Boss Minus Max LMP.. Whatever mods you put there the results would be the same ;) High 90s char with a lot more ex than 10 though... After playing with a ton of builds, tanks, dps'ers, builds centered around uniques and non-uniques, I don't feel it is more op than many other items out there. You could argue there are a ton of OP items, and that would be a more interesting discussion.
hm fair enough, I was wrong. I didnt think about the spiders fast attacking so much the block would always proc.

but youre yourself saying that its isnt overpowered *shrugs*

block is truly king in this game

Second last post on that page, continued further on 21 and 22 page.

"Discussion" between Ypokrator and myself.

Reasons why Aegis is indeed, OP.

I was a dual-wielder, found an Aegis, got tired of things like blue Devourers killing me instantly (at 5500 HP), and gave it a try. I've only died three times since:

- Temple Piety plus elemental weakness (didn't prepare properly)
- Maze Vaal (I died instantly when it looked like I was by myself on the screen, so I'm guessing that was desync plus Vaal Smash)
- Shock and Horror (nearly had her dead and she turned on her laser of doom; first time I ever fought her myself; should have prepared better)

Things like double-damage mobs of blue devourers can still hurt me, but it's not insta-death. I have time to react. Desync isn't a panic situation, either; I can survive, resync, and keep going.

I feel like I'm using the Aegis in response to out-of-balance spike damage and desync. The Aegis smooths those things out, prevents most insta-deaths, and provides more enjoyable gameplay.

I should add I gave up almost half my DPS to use the Aegis (very noticable on high-level maps).
And may the mods be ever in your favor.

Just don't nerf my precious D"; , its alllll those other skills that are op and making my shield overpowered.

Jokes aside I remember when they were testing the shield when designing it, and remarking how it was breaking the game xD so looks like we've come back to that point with items and defensive things that have made it able to have such a ridiculous block chance etc

You made a bad item, and you should feel bad. ;)
It's worth noting that +2 maps are a dangerous thing.
They can cause players to get out of their depth -
playing maps that are too hard for the items they currently have. Herp Derp.
