Second last post on that page, continued further on 21 and 22 page. "Discussion" between Ypokrator and myself. Reasons why Aegis is indeed, OP. Last edited by tinko92 on Feb 14, 2014, 10:25:04 AM

I was a dual-wielder, found an Aegis, got tired of things like blue Devourers killing me instantly (at 5500 HP), and gave it a try. I've only died three times since:
- Temple Piety plus elemental weakness (didn't prepare properly) - Maze Vaal (I died instantly when it looked like I was by myself on the screen, so I'm guessing that was desync plus Vaal Smash) - Shock and Horror (nearly had her dead and she turned on her laser of doom; first time I ever fought her myself; should have prepared better) Things like double-damage mobs of blue devourers can still hurt me, but it's not insta-death. I have time to react. Desync isn't a panic situation, either; I can survive, resync, and keep going. I feel like I'm using the Aegis in response to out-of-balance spike damage and desync. The Aegis smooths those things out, prevents most insta-deaths, and provides more enjoyable gameplay. I should add I gave up almost half my DPS to use the Aegis (very noticable on high-level maps). And may the mods be ever in your favor.

" You made a bad item, and you should feel bad. ;) It's worth noting that +2 maps are a dangerous thing.
They can cause players to get out of their depth - playing maps that are too hard for the items they currently have. Herp Derp. |
