Will GGG cater casuals

D3 inferno at launch was 10x harder than POE is or will be come OB. Yes it was badly balanced but it was hard as hell. Even with godly gear it was no pushover.

Ya, no. Once you got past the gear barrier, D3 was a joke.

Great game been playing CB for close to a week now, but once OB starts up and all the D3 casuals start playing. I fear that they will cry on fourms till the game is nerfed to the ground. I heard in general chat yesterday that GGG plans to make the game harder for OB release, if this is true thats great.

GGG are building the game they want to play...that is not a WoW/D3 hand holding windowlicking borefeast...so no, they will not cave to casuals...and the majority of players are playing the game because of that fact

Orly, so lets see, it took Kripp over a month to finish D3 inferno...you think ppl aren't going to have finished in POE in a month? Kripp breezed through Alpha with no deaths using self found gear, that was impossible in original D3.

Edit: I know you didn't down inferno before the nerfs because they were made a day or 2 after Kripp downed it. Sooo, if you did actually beat D3 on HC you did it post nerfs.

POE is a LOT easier than D3 was.

The only reason why it was impossible (for some) was because the drop rates sucked (still do). I had no problems playing Diablo 3`s Inferno pre-nerf. There was hardly any challenge if you knew what you did.

And btw, just because one person breezes through a game does not mean everyone else will.
Kripparrian is a min/maxer who researches every aspect of the games he play`s, that gives him an edge and that`s why he breezes through... because he knows his stuff.

That's just bad design, it has nothing to do with difficulty. Becides, PoE takes much more time to prepare than D3. You got to remember, that Kripp has had the entire game to practice on, where he only had the beta in D3.

& here I know you are talking straight out of your ass. Unless you downed Inferno Diablo the same day or the day after Kripp then you did it post nerf.

Yea for sure, this way the noobs gradually go extinct.
I thought D3 was easy on normal, nightmare and hell, I hardly got a dent in my healthglobe. Inferno had a ridiculous increase in difficulty though, managed to make it to Diablo pre 1.0.3. but lost interest entirely when it rolled out.

PoE however managed to dent my healthglobe pretty often in the first difficulty, so when going by that, I consider it way more challenging than D3 ever was.

It's not like harder = more fun necessarily, since the difficulty in D3 came nearly always from just elites. The difference in strength between packs of elites and normal enemies was ridiculous in my opinion. Normal enemies could hardly touch you, then elites would just 2 shot you, it seemed wrong to me. I really didn't like elites in D3 and the overuse of some of their abilities either. (vortex, reflect dmg, waller stood out the most as just being "annoying" and hardly fun to experience)
