how do you calculate primary attributes effect on dps?

wanting to crunch some numbers to see if a certain build is viable. Just for example using a melee weapon you get a 2% damage increase per 10 pts of strength. so how would you calculate the dps on this?

100-200 damage melee weapon with 1.2 attacks per second on a character with 290 strength using an attack that increases attack damage by 60%

numbers are just for example but would it be

[((200+100)/2)*1.2)/(290*.002)]*1.6= 496? this seems super low for such high stats and damage

(so average damage x atk speed)/(strength damage bonus)*damage coefficient of skill

im kind of a noob at this stuff but i really wanted to figure this out and i dont know why my numbers are so low

also how does crit factor in to all of this mind boggling haha

There's a damage formula in the mechanics thread.
all "increases" are done at same time that affect a specific skill.
attacks/casts per second is final step. game does this math for you most of the time while also taking acc into account.
