Suggest a starter mf build?

So I've been playing PoE off an on for a while, and neither of my mains have done that great. I chalk that up mostly to lack of decent equipment. I have limited time to play usually, so I'm not very wealthy.

What I'm looking for is a decent MF build that's not very reliant on gear so I can build up currency to gear either a better MF build or one of my mains. Can anyone point me in the right direction? All of the guides I can find are either old, or highly gear dependent. What's decent in the current game version?

The only build in the game that's not reliant on gear is a summoner.
It just so happens that they excel at MF for the same reason.

That build is still the strongest build in the game requiring the most expensive item in the game.

Your two best options are summoner and non-Shavronne's ZORF totems. Summoner is the least gear-dependent build in the game, just stack MF items and have your minions fight while you either play coward or peck away with a low DPS spell/bow. ZORF totems (usually Spark+Fork totems) are slightly more gear-dependent, but simply having a lot more ES than life is about all you need for survivability, since the totems will draw aggro for you. Shav's is far too expensive to realistically expect it anytime in your development except extremely, extremely late. It has better Docks speed than summoner, but has more trouble with maps due to chaos vulnerability.

Stay away from sporkers, to expensive and weaker.
