If he RMTed, GGG would have banned him long time ago. Or are you implying GGG are incompetent?
It is obvious that they focus on keeping the top players clean rather than investigate every player.
I didn't read past page 2, but I can assure you that here on the anarchy ladder, at least 5 of them in the top 10 actively use "that website," and I wouldn't be surprised if some of them RMT'ed also. However "that website" isn't RMT. No one there buys FG, I've used the site for years in other games, and in 10+ years I've never heard of anyone buying FG, because the price ratio VS RMTing is never in "that sites" favor. I've never seen any company or any game say it's equal to RMT, only GGG and their overly strict views on RMT, and the loyal fans who haven't actually used the site before believe this.
Also, GGG, like other game companies go after the websites/supply accounts, no individuals. I'm sure they have banned a few that got caught up in ban waves for bots/supply accounts, but you'd be hard-pressed to be able to find someone in the top 50 that suddenly stopped leveling, or was simply removed from the ladder because they were RMting.

lol, are you serious? no one buys forum gold with money
so many dumb people in this thread
I am aware that he doesnt buy it, so what I simply wondered is where he gets the forum gold from if not RMTing? Selling PoE items? Or like someone stated by selling D2 items? But how does he get rid of those? If its really that easy to set up a bot wouldnt the items be completely worthless?
D2 items aren't worth what they once were. It's possible that someone has left over FG from those days, but highly unlikely.
The FG market is one that is just like the economy market in game, only more lucrative at certain points. I don't know exact numbers here, but for example when a new league comes out people needs lots of alchs at first, and they are more valuable than fuses and such, however later on they drop in value, but the FG raises in value. You could go sell an exalted a week in for say 2000, and buy them now for say 200. You gimp yourself at first to invest in something via supply and demand, sell high, buy low. The same thing happens in game though, if you were holding a lot of GCPs recently you just lost value, if you were holding EX/Chaos in bulk, you gained value.

RMT isn't bad because it is Real Money.
It is bad because it is external, outside, non-PoE, non-GGG currency.
Whether using £, $, FG, bananas, weed, sexual favours or toenail sandwiches, external currency is external currency.
Casually casual.

Exactly. In all honestly, though, if it is as easy to tell who is using this as many people claim, GGG either needs to do something about it (a few high profile examples go a long way) or just change policy and say it is OK. It sucks to see the people who follow the rules get gimped by the lack of enforcement of the rules. It doesn't affect me much either way, as I will never be near the top of a ladder, but I take offense at injustice in general.

I wouldn't say terrible design, I'd say terrible player.
WAIT you "insult" someone who just died by mistake and who didnt blame the game for it (afaik)?
you are trash.
Get a character at least ranked on a ladder, then you can talk.
Akira is a proven d2jsp'r and has died 5+ times in Onslaught already.
Bad.
Get a shiny gold banner before you talk to me.

While I do think that the decision making on Akira's part was bad, I still think it's stupid the game even allows you to die like this.
What a horrible way to handle blood magic. You should never be able to kill yourself like this ever. Dying from blood magic by using too much 'life' to cast a spell is a stupid death trap. The design is terrible.
I agree.
Did he have exactly enough life? like 126 life and grace cost 126 or did grace cost more and it killed him that way?

It must cost exactly the same way.
The game does not allow otherwise.
