dxutcreatedevice failed

Over the last few days I have been getting this error when clicking the Path of Exile shortcut from my desktop.

I cannot play this game.

I have been playing this game for quite awhile, in fact i have a lvl 39 shadow (along with some others).

The only change on my system is an uninstall of AVG free/Comodo firewall.

I tried to reinstall directx 11 (win 7 ultimate) and reinstall of nvidia drivers.

nothing seems to help.

Any ideas?

Try this. Run client directly from the POE folder.

Sorry for my English, it's not my native language.
ya tried that actually.

I am running an nvidia gtx670M.

I clicked on client.exe from pathofexile directory. Tried as admin and also forcing nvidia as default graphics card.

Still no result.

I just cant for the life of me think why all of a sudden this is happening. I was playing the game for several weeks just fine prior to this.

Hope I can figure it out.

Also i ran packcheck with no errors to report.
Did you update your drivers? If yes, try to roll back them.

Try to delete config file from C:\Users\[User]\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile

Interesting ... that seemed to work.
However I only have the intel onboard video processor as an option. I cannot select the nvidia gtx670m.

Wonder what that is about?

Thanks ... at least we are heading in the right direction.

System doesn't see your video card or only the game?

system sees it just fine and so does every other game i currently am playing.

also -- before this error showed up this game recognized it as well.

now it does not.

thanks though ... at least I can get into game now. :D

Hmmm ... tried updating graphics drivers and the Nvidia driver installer cannot find compatible hardware.

Uh oh .... this cant be good.

Your welcome.

PS: I think it will recognize your video card after you launch the game and change settings.
If not, you can try to write in "adapter_name=" field in the production_Config.ini your video card name after "=". But, don't forget to copy it first.
