Unique suggestion

Ooh this thread seems delightful.

I've a little suggestion of my own, it's hardly developed and I haven't gotten far enough to know number balance, but here is the general idea:

Murasame

- Unique 1h weapon (sword or axe preferably)
- Critical strikes deal half of their damage as chaos damage
- The user takes a % (say 5%) of the damage dealt as chaos damage (hence sword or axe, so that relevant points are extremely far away from chaos inoculation.)
- First melee attack against a target is guaranteed critical strike.
- The target takes reduced damage (5/10% perhaps) from the user after being hit by Murasame's ability.

Im not sure on what a balanced Damage and attack speed would be for this item.

I imagine this to be a mid to late game item, about level 40-60 perhaps?

I could see some unique builds coming around this item, such as an extremely fast mob clearer if someone has extremely high critical multiplier, or if someone uses a frost based attack they could essentially have guaranteed freezes. The reduced damage and self damage component come at the cost of chaos damage and 100% crit chance.

An interesting build choice could be using spells to lower the enemies health and then using Murasame as a finishing blow to ignore the damage reduction component. (I'm not sure if that damage reduction would reduce chaos damage, the intention is that it does not so that a high crit chance could ignore half of the damage reduction.)

As for coding, the whole "first attack on a target" is pretty easy for the developers because they need a simple "check if target has (name of damage reduction buff) = to true" sort of trigger.

Just my 2 cents, in no way do I expect this to ever be made an item, but it's so fun coming up with these ideas!

The numbers aren't balanced obviously, but the hook is that it has a chance to cast Ethereal Knives on attack.

And the dagger is from Assassin's Creed II lol

+10% max resist all
+150 life
+30% to all armor/evasion/ES
-30% to all resists
10% chance to gain edurance charge when hit
+2 level of all gems in this armor

Tried to balance it a bit... What ya'll think, under/over powered?

White skill gem (that is can be put in any socket)

Light
Creates a bright light.

Some places are too dark, this gem would find a use. Whether it follows the caster or hits a target location, or it's duration, all up for debate.


Stone Parapet
str shield

+15% to elemental resists
+45 hit points
+100% armour on shield
+300 armour on shield
-15% move speed
-10% attack speed
As stone, rigid, unmoving.


Bloodflame Stone
life regen amulet

2% of spell damage leeched back as life
10-16% increased spell damage
10% increased cast speed
+25% spell crit chance
40-60 hit points
-10% chaos resistance (breaks CI)
-50% physical damage.
The blood rages, the body burns.

Still looking for a blood magic caster specific unique >.>

But on a more related notice, I'ld like a troll kings crown unique item. Hook: 1% Chance to cause 9,001 Fire damage. Cuz trolls hate fire.

Some sort of lantern, as an ES shield, which gives off additional light would be cool.
the light could maybe clip through walls, making it super effective.

the 'Allflame' as an equip might be nice
