" guys, its not about what loot allocation to play or changing loot allocations mid game etc etc, there is the possibility of a bug here that needs to be fixed, its as simple as that. I love FFA, I love short alo with friends cause if a bow drops for me, my ranger friend will take it, if a wand drops for her, its mine, if we both know our other friend needs armour scraps because theyre trying to get a 5 link we will leave ours on the deck for them along with 6 sockets and fusing. Im not a big fan of perm allocation, sometimes its needed but tbh Id just rather not play with people I wouldnt trust. Thats sort of irrelevant, if theres a bug with perm alocation or a bug with all modes where items are showing up for more than 1 person it needs to be addressed. People keep on coming in talking about changing allocations, people leaving the area etc, the ones Ive experienced have not been down to that I can guarantee 100%. " is that supposed to be some sort of dig at me? Past few days I've been playing with parties far more than usual for me. I enjoy the permanent allocation mode and join those exclusively. So far I've noticed this happen far too often: A yellow rare will drop for me, and someone else in the party can grab it before I can. Not greyed out for me and apparently not for them either. First time this happened I just shrugged it off. Then in another game it happens again, and with scrolls as well. Yes, the game was perm allocation. Far as I could tell everyone was in area. It didn't happen too often but often enough to bug me. My main complaint though about my new party experience is this though: SO MUCH SHIT DROPS ON THE GROUND IN A PARTY GROUP THAT IT CAN BE IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND A ATTACKING MOB IN THE SCREEN CLUTTER. That is horse shit. I'm now just going to play either with less people in a group, say max 3 or 4 or just stick with solo again. Far too much shit drops. It is no joy standing there wondering if a nice 4l, 5l or 6 socket of type I want is laying there in the mix. 50 items to weed thru and a fight continues. Perm allocation when it was implemented made me happy but the sheer number of SHIT dropping does not. I don't consider hiding all drops and having to hit 'show items' all the time when running around a fix either. That is annoying as hell. | |
Yea something is definitely up and like I said I am able to confirm it was definitely allocated to me as on my fiancé's screen it was greyed out. I'll post here if it happens again but at the same time I probably won't be doing too many public runs with drops in mind now that I know this can happen. Hopefully GGG can nail this down and fix it whether it be a hack, script, bug, w/e. I'm fairly confident its not coincidence that the first
time I saw this happen was when a valuable unique was allocated to me. Before and since then I have never experienced it. My nice drops in private games that I have permanent allocation never have had this happen. I really do love the game and am only mentioning this in the hope that whatever is going on will be taken care of. |

" Personally I am going to stick to FFA only pub parties until we know for sure whats going on here. Theres no messing around with FFA, you all know the score its first grab first get and as long as everyones trying to grab everything important thats a completely fair and fun way to do it. With friends exalts and stuff are too important, I dont want to pvp with friends over big drops. We already have an understanding that any item found thats an upgrade for someone is theirs without trade or question, if someone runs out of alcs a guy with 100s will throw over 2x 10 stacks, but if an exalt drops thats going to the guy who its lit up for. It saves time, its fair, but if theyre lighting up for more than 1 person then we have a problem that needs looked into for sure. It's pretty obvious what happened.
Party finishes a docks run with permanent allocation; then before creating a new istance smart party leader switches to short allocation. When the new istance is up, it will have for his WHOLE FUCKING duration a short allocation rule. So trick is to change to perma allocation only after the new istance with short allocation has been created in order to let player think they're playing a perma allocation. Timeline: dock perma ist ----> town ----> change to short ----> new ist created with short ----> change to perma to disguise all other party members It works, i just tested, and this explains why OP got his item stolen.. his short allocation runned out and some1 else stole the item. Is that hard to understand? someone else said it before me and you are still talking about hacks and scripts? are you serious??? BTW: noticed this trick yday and stole 1 regal and 1 chaos... rule of the fittest ;) TL;DR: istances loot rules are defined when created and can't be modified after theyr creation ;) Last edited by Mahesys#6567 on Jun 25, 2013, 11:18:27 AM

Guy above me, sorry but you need to read more than just one post before assuming you know what's going on. I told you I can see my screen and another player's screen and it was only allocated to one of us and at no point did it become available to the other.

FFA is even worse when script users are in.Most of them adjust auto pick for any "orb like",from scrolls to orbs, maps and uniques.Hf.
As I said,if you suspect that your loot time expires more quickly than usual,or when continuously clicking on an item without success, that means there are scripters/hackers.Better leave this party. This is a buff © 2016 The Experts ™ 2017 Last edited by torturo#7228 on Jun 25, 2013, 11:29:23 AM

" Eh, sometimes the item is just on the otherside of an obstacle and you dont realize it due to the way loot labels snap together in a blob. Just because you clicked on an item while standing on the label doesnt mean your character can pick it up. You character might try to start pathing to the item, but you cancel the pathing because you dont immediately realize why he is going around his elbow to get to his asshole when you are standing on the label. Hey...is this thing on? Last edited by LostForm#2813 on Jun 25, 2013, 11:34:47 AM

What happens is that it was allocated to someone else, whom clicked it right away, but they had a full inventory, so it drops again and is lit up for everyone. Then everyone thinks it was allocated to them and someone picks it up, and claims of "hack!" ensue.
This is a common occurrence, especially when the screen is littered and it takes your eyeballs a few hundred ms to see that orange on screen. |
