Shared Stash Space

First of all, hello and thanks a lot for this free game you are offering us. Ever since i started playing MMOs i have yet to see such a wonderful game and such a fine experience.

I have been playing this game for more or less a week and am excited about two things, two bright ideas of yours:

a) Passive Skill Tree.

b) Completely Free Idea.

I came here to write about an issue i would like to discuss though. Do not misunderstand me, i am not trying to criticize, just issuing a problem that has been bothering me.

Like i said, i was excited about the part:

"Path of Exile is completely free to download and play. We never intend to charge for content or access to the released game. In order to fund the development and continued expansion of Path of Exile, we offer a range of ethical microtransactions that allow you to distinguish yourself in the world of Wraeclast without receiving any gameplay advantage. We are completely opposed to the concept of "pay-to-win"."

But i have seen that you need to pay cash to have an increased shared stash size. I understand that i am playing (and enjoying) a free game and that the game needs support, but i believe this, and only this, payed feature goes against the morale idea of your game. I also understand that having increased stash size does not actually grant an advantage but we have all felt, i believe, the discomfort of having to change between accounts, or dual boxing, or anything, to manage our inventories.

I hope you do not get the wrong idea, i am just trying to discuss a matter, maybe the only matter, i have had in mind since i strted playing.

Thanks for the answers in advance!
You are not forced to keep those items, so if you can't manage your stash properly, just sell some of your junk. Willing to bet you have a stash tab filled up with mostly quest gems that you can easily do without.
Also, create mule accounts, you can make as many as you want. This is what you had to do in Diablo 2. Trust me, this isn't P2W and they are already more than fair. They could have given you just 1 stash tab and 4 characters.

Also, mule accounts are unlimited and free. After the patch today, you cant trade currency unless you have a Lv25 character on that account...but you can still have unlimited free stash space for gear and such. I think you just need to start a new PoE client and log in to the other account.

Edit: the smartphone is not faster than the Clive :/

Really?
Come on man, a couple of extra stash tabs will not cost you much.
When I first started playing PoE I was very doubtful of this claim that it was not going to be P2W, having tried numerous other 'free to play' games in the past.
I thought they will surely get you will letting you just create one or two characters or give you one stash tab. however you get 20!! character slots and 4 (or is it 6?) free stash tabs!
that is more than generous. sure if you like hoarding stuff, you will need more stash space or create mule accounts, but it is plenty to just play normally

I was so impressed by this that I happily spend about £200 and counting on supporting this fantastic developer team. sounds like a lot of money, at least for me it is, but considering how much money I wasted in the past on games I got bored after a few hours of playing, it is fantastic value for money.

also, welcome to the game :)

ps the 'lux' part of your name related to where you come from? (just curious)

You can use one or two of your 24(?) possible charakterslots as a Mule Charakter, if you think your stash is to small ... or you simply support this game with some Dollars. :)
Thank you all for your quick and polite answers.

Mostly with Yellow items that i judge would be useful for other characters of mine or of my friends'. I am either too lucky or the game is designed so that i find tons of them all the time. Think i'll be hoarding the orange ones only from one point on.

Thanks for the welcome and i will agree. Unfortunately, due to many factors (like country or residence, current economical state, etc.) not everyone is able to donate, though i love the fact that the moderators respect this.

Signifer Lux means Light Bearer in a crude form of Latin as i have heard. Lux alone means Light, for that i am sure.

I understand the fact that all this feature offers is convenience (since muling is possible) though i hope it is not the spark to light a greater fire in the future.

Still, i am interested to listen to other peoples' opinion on the matter too.

The thing about the economy is now that we have a large playerbase, mediocre items are almost worthless and the only items worth keeping are near perfect rolls and items you want to keep for alternate characters.
you will probably find soon that all those yellows you consider worth keepin at the moment to actually be trash.
I very quickly filled up m y stash with yellows for my alts... sold practically all of them once I had more experience with the game

Purchasable tabs have been here for well over a year now and were the first microtransaction offered. Since then only cosmetic stuff has entered the store. In all that time there has not been any indication that anything remotely p2w will creep up in the game, so your fears are unfounded.
