clarification on character wipes

I've heard/read conflicting information on this.
One thing I've heard which I hope to be the case is that there is going to be a wipe going from closed to open beta but it will be the last one. Meaning if during the open beta I get my witch to lvl 30 she will still be lvl 30 when the game goes live while also retaining any items found in open beta. The conflicting info is that all characters will be reset to lvl 1 after the open beta. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated! | |

1. All characters from standard and legacy go to level 1 and lose all their items; essentially you're reserving names.
2. This happens at the start of the open beta, and never again. Open beta is essentially release. |
