Tomorrow we’re aiming to release 3.29.2 which will contain improvements to leagues. Such as:

  • Elite enemies spawned by Abyss Pits will have higher effectiveness, meaning they are more rewarding, and on average there are more Elites spawning from Abyss Pits.
  • Abyss Scarab of Crystals will now cause every Abyssal Pit in the area except for the final one to spawn an Abyssal Crystal. Abyssal Crystals increase the difficulty and reward of all subsequent Abyssal Monsters spawned from pits. Previously, this only spawned crystals on pits that had no reward, which often resulted in very few crystals spawning, as subsequent closed pits had increasing chances for a reward to spawn.
  • Enshrouded items in Crystals of Permutations can now be charged up to 3 times, gaining "Variant Rarity" each time the crystal is charged. The higher the Variant Rarity the more likely the resultant Vestigial item is to be a rarer Unique item. You can break out a Crystal to obtain a Vestigial Unique as long as you have fully charged the item at least once (gained at least 1 Variant Rarity).
  • The amount of Wildwood Wisps gained by players in the Viridian Wildwood has been increased.
  • Lowered the damage that several enemy mercenary skills deal.
  • Added a crafting bench to the Menagerie.
  • Offering to the Deep altars in Voyages will now display the chance they grant for certain currencies to convert to others, and these chances have been raised across the board, though these altars are individually less common. The intention is that these are significantly more noticeable when they do appear. Across many voyages there will overall be a higher number of currencies converted, assuming you are finding and interacting with these altars.

This will come alongside many other bug fixes and general improvements, as usual.

Next week, we’re aiming to have a follow up patch to this where we plan to do the following:

Players will be able to obtain, through various endgame means, 6 different "Cursed Ducats". These Cursed Ducats are quest items, and non-tradeable. The Voyage UI will have three sockets, similar to Voidstone Sockets on the Atlas UI. Cursed Ducats can be socketed into these, meaning you can have up to three of them active at a time. Each Cursed Ducat you socket will ratchet up the quantity and rarity of items dropped by slain enemies in Chart and Voyage encounters, but each Ducat also comes with it's own bespoke difficulty modifier as well.

To be clear, Charts and Voyages can be opened without any of these active as per normal, but this provides an avenue for players looking for further challenge from deepwater encounters, while also providing a layer of customisation when doing so. Since there are six Cursed Ducats and three sockets to use them in, you can safely and easily avoid a Ducat that has a downside your build is not prepared to deal with, while still making use of three total Cursed Ducats in order to get the maximum bonus to the monsters in your Voyages and Charts possible.
