Please change the color palette, it is found wanting

I'm going to throw in my 2 cents and agree with the overall sentiment. Everything seems a little too monochromatic, and it is sometimes difficult to differentiate between players, monsters and background.

I also found that in the caves (the Submerged Passage, I think) that it is hard to tell where the floor ends and the wall begins because it is all the same color. Maybe the floor could be light gray or something and the walls could keep that greenish color. Just an idea, but I found that it was a problem.

Just to clarify -- this made it hard for me to find my way out of the cave -- I had to play it a 2nd time because I missed the path to the cave exit because it looked like it was impassable. On top of that, I ran into a couple cases where I would mouse over a chest, but not be able to reach it because some stalagmites/walls were in the way, even though it looked like I could squeeze through.
Heh, funny because it used to be much worse. I made a post about this like 9 months ago and they did end up making it a lot better than what it was. It could definitely still use some work.
So Diablo III was too colourful, and now PoE is not enough colourful? Ok ok I'm out. ;)

Colorful =/= Cartoony
I didn't really notice till grouping, but it is really hard to differentiate players from non-players...this could partially be attributed to the color palette.

Heck the background to the website has more zing than anything in the game. Maybe use that artist =)
One of the things that worked in console games that I don't recall seeing in PC games as often was color rings around players. I know that having clarity on my witch at all times helps me pick her out of the crowd and having discipline hit her minions helps me see them as well. I know that having a green, blue, red or yellow ring around an ally might not be "realistic" but having auras from things like clarity and wrath isn't what I would call "real" either. Think of the rings as an innate spell that the party casts so they can work better together or something... whatever makes it work for you.
I can see your / Back is turned and / If I could I'd / Stick my knife in.

I wouldn't mind some optional, semi-subtle rings around the feet of my allies and enemies (with menu toggle, of course), removal of ally targeting, and a bit more stand-out-ness of creatures/characters from the terrain.
I think it'll be better if allies name are shown above their characters on colours indicating their classes.
Marauder > Red
Ranger > Green
Witch > Blue
Duelist > Yellow
Templar > Magenta
Shadow > Cyan
(As already appear on classes info)
