petition to change the ban appeal method
1) if you get banned or muted for whatever reason it should be looked at and the time of been banned the time banned should be associated with the grave of the matter instead of just ``look at this list of things and you did this`` look at the chatlogs (what was was it about what is the context) all of this is skipped. which leaves players angry even more
2) a global chat mute (should only mute your global chat) but it should not effect trading what has trading to do with talking about something in global chat. the only moment trading should be touched is when said person did RMT or any other illegal methods of currency transfers. again it leaves players very angry 3) what I think should be done with whispers during a global chat mute you should still be able to whisper unless you say something bad to another player via a whisper than you should also get whisper banned and to add to it trading should not be effected by this so when som1 on trade pings you you can see the trade whisper but you just cannot reply back to said person only add him for the trade. 4) the method in which time of the chat ban is given to a player is not looked at at all instead it just registers words you say in global chat and the time of you getting banned will just be longer and longer the more things you say in global instead of been actually monitored or looked at by a moderator. again it leaves players even more angry those are some of the reasons why only a handful of players actually chat via global chat they don`t want any risk of been banned or muted because it could very well ruin their entire league. I hope this gets looked at and reviewed. Last bumped on Jun 30, 2025, 2:15:53 PM

Please stop repeating the thing about annoying players; you don't speak for everyone.
I've been playing this game for more than ten years and I've never gotten muted in chat. If this is happening to you so frequently as to cause inconvenience, change your behaviour so that you no longer get muted. It isn't hard. You will only be muted if 1) other players report you, and, 2) an employee reviews the reported message(s) and agrees with the reports. The only thing that leaves me "very angry" is when people spam chat or otherwise make a nuisance of themselves in it. Mutes having ramifications for trade is relatively new. It was brought in as previously moderation lacked sufficient bite, and people would intentionally break the rules knowing they wouldn't care about the punishment handed down. Trade bans changed that entirely. ...that does sum up the fundamental flaw of your post, really. You're giving GGG advice on how to water down chat-related punishments so that the people getting punished won't notice or care. But GGG don't want to weaken the deterrance caused by the punishments; they want to clamp down on that behaviour. Your feedback, therefore, isn't really a great fit. I find it difficult to justify optional purchases to support a Tencent-owned development studio that declines to provide customers Technical Support, regardless of how many thousands of euros that customer has spent...

Perhaps GGG should put chat-muted players on forum Probation as well.

" people are too toxic and take every word out of context and will report you for it even if its so minor that a gm could look at the chatlogs and belike why is this man muted for this? but for even the smallest thing they would pull up the list of rules instead of reading the chatlogs so people get muted for 2-10 days for no actual good reason why do u think out of 50.000 people online barely 100 people use global chat xD |

" you sound like one of those guys who would not use global chat and just report people the moment you can. |

Do you know how much more work you're saying GGG should have to do, for something which would almost certainly not result in any change the vast majority of the time, and has zero possibility of actually getting them a return on that man-hour investment? Because having to read through an entire conversation to grasp the full context of a message is going to take at least 10 times longer than it takes to read one message. So GGG would need 10 times as many people doing that job.
How many of these temporary chat bans do you honestly expect would be overturned upon deeper contextual review? I'd be shocked if it were even 5%; usually when someone gets angry enough to say something offensive and mute-worthy, "but I was really mad at a thing the other guy said" isn't accepted as a valid defense. And there's literally zero defense when you say or post something which is explicitly forbidden as a topic of conversation, which is most of the times I see people get muted. "Don't talk about politics" means "Do. Not. Talk. About. Politics." If you post le Toucan, you do it knowing exactly what's coming your way. And so on. " ![]() " As I have already said - to receive a mute, you must be both reported by other players & have an employee review the reports and believe there is merit to them. The lack of even a single person agreeing with you is conspicuous… Perhaps it is you that is “very angry” about chat mutes - and the rest of us are happy about them? Again - in more than ten years, I have been muted zero times. This seems to be a ‘you’ problem. " Well, since you happen to ask;

" you look at the chatlog and read 5 msges and you already see why its been said it litrally takes them 10 seconds to look at they can pull-up the logs almost instantly from their side with the msg of mute i am not saying that if a person gets angry and you say somthing crazy offensives you sould not be muted but if its minor like giving critique on somthing you sould not get muted for it unless its actually crazy offensive example lets say a guy is talking about politics the whole time and instead of reporting the person you call him out on it like ``your opinion is stupid``or somthing allong those lines you could already get muted and banned for it for 3+ days which makes no sense we are all 18+ practically but we can get banned for the smallest thing and i just simply dont agree with it + appealing to it simply does not exist. |
