Eagon Memory Altars not taking effect

Died with no portals left after boss in memory chain, but before i clicked altar. Map completed, but couldnt click the altar. Next map didn't have any bonus (as expected), finished it and clicked the altar at the end. Next map doesn't show any altar affects in map device or in the map mods.
