Dead mercenaries still talking and not replacing current merc when the option is selected

Upon killing a merc, on occasion they will continue to active voicelines, especially if they die after they kill me or if I chose to replace my current merc with them but my current merc has been re hired and is not present in the area. This also results in the currently active merc not being replaced. Some combination of events also leads to their icon staying on the map after they are defeated in these scenarios.
