My experience with Arbiter of Ash

First of all, I do not presume to be holding the truth about the game, the patch or the boss. I'm just trying to explain how the whole thing felt to me as some kind of feedback, for whatever it's worth.

I'm playing a homemade build for Huntress, nothing good, really, but exploring the whole "combo gameplay" GGG talked about.

I've managed to reach Tier 15 and complete the 3 citadels and try The Arbiter. It was my first time seeing it and I didn't knew how it worked. I haven't seen any videos of it as I wanted a true first impression of them.

Where to begin...
It's visually unclear and many of the one-shot areas are hard to track. Sometimes they do the whole "meteorites safe zone" thing but some of them spawn so far appart that they're out of your screen and you don't have time to check in which direction they are, so you die.
Sometimes they fire the laser between two "safe points" and you don't have the luxury to avoid it as there's not enough time for such thing, so either you die by the laser or by the meteorite's explosion.
If you're melee you're unable to damage them int he meteorite phase, and it goes back to back meteorite and fire bursts (the ones you have a line to be safe).
Playing a combo build I need several seconds to start doing damage, and they spend several minutes doing the same two phases one after another, not allowing me enough time to start dealing damage.
The boss feels like it's made for one-shot or one button builds, which feels kinda shitty if you're trying to explore the alternative gameplay tools the game gives you compared to PoE1.

I won't pretend I'm a good player and it's just the game's fault or anything like it. I'm used to trying several times and slowly learning bosses an, as I said, my build was homemade and very sub-optimal, but I felt like there was a disconnection between what I've been hearing GGG preach about ways to play the game and the actual gameplay.

At the end, after several attempts the server disconected and as I logged back in I spawned at my hideout, not being able to get inside the burning monolith again as they were no portals and with the "keys" to get in lost.

After this experience with it I don't think I'll be trying it again, at least not with this character. I'm too tired of trying to engage in the "meaningful combat" with overly complicated combos to start farming the citadels again.
I might start a new character and use some meta build that feels akin to PoE1 or just leave it here for this patch.

Once again, I'll say that I don't presume to hold the truth or be right about anything I said. It was my experience and I might be wrong in my interpretation about the subject, I just wanted to share in case it could be of use for anybody.

It's apparent that GGG business model is to waste our time, but say "have vision" is long deterministic fights. Then allow streamers to RMT the best gear and kill them in seconds.
It's pathetic.
this plus the fact that in 0.2 there is currently no reason to do the arbiter as he doesnt drop anything valuable.
it's pure waste of your currencies and time. sell the fragments, don't even bother untill they eventually patch this...
