I'm sorry but imagine if Spear & Shield made sense...

For starters...

Why have this tiny bowl of a shield if you have all these crazy Ranged and AOE attacks to clear the room?

The only right answer should be fun and creativity.

I have another thread on how forced the Shield Parry is with Spear gameplay but here I will attempt to actually incorporate it to complement the playstyle.

[Whirling Slash]
With developers that pride themselves making Flash grenades blind everyone even themselves, how are we maintaining a whirlwind with a swing of a spear? WHAT IF--- The skill actually starts by planting the spear to the ground and the player swings around it as a channeling skill that leaves a whirlwind gust OR when pressed with the shield skill causes you to shoot yourself like Captain America to stun a target. Shield actually becomes useful.

[Rapid Assault]
WHAT IF-- the Parry shield actually gives you the Frenzy charge straight from parrying or perfect parrying and then you can consume that charge-- either debuffing the target as vulnerable or buffing your skill to do more damage or combo with another flashy move or swing again with the Shield for extra Stun damage. Shield becomes a combo.

[Fangs of Frost]
WHAT IF-- Instead pierces the Ice Spear to the ground and Freezes the ground and the spear itself but consuming a Frenzy Charge adds another effect of swinging the Shield to the Spear to do a ring aoe and shatters to shoot ice projectiles. Shield shatter to spread.

Maybe others can be inspired to find more creative ways to do the skills. Think maybe of Phalanxes and how they work. Who knows...

Point is Spears & Shields can be reworked to actually make sense, complement each other, AND BE FUN-- instead of just being another rehash versions of grenade and bow skills.
