Huntress just ain’t it

Idk how to say this nicely but this class just sucks. I’ve tried the whirlwind tornado combo, was good at first but slowly became obsolete against bosses and rares. I’ve tried rake with rapid assault. How am I supposed to take advantage of rakes increased damage based off distance after I use the skill once? I can’t run away from the enemies because they are faster. Just spam disengage into rake? The skill still does zero damage and the bleed sucks even with rapid assault which is another skill that just sucks. What’s the point of having these “stored” lances to be detonated when the skill I need to detonate doesn’t come until much much later in the game? Same with spear field, death by a thousand cuts until you’re fighting a boss that doesn’t walk over them. Melee for this class is atrocious. Besides being slow and barely doing any damage, all the attack sequences have most of their damage at the end of the skill which forces me to stay locked in place trying to land the last hit before thy enemy 2 taps me. I’ve barely managed with lightning spear, storm lance and adding in lightning rod, but even then the enemies just run past my rods and storm lance and keep pressing me. The big kick in the butt is that I’m partly through act 2 and have only gotten 6 support gems. I’ve gotten enough level 6 skill gems to almost get every skill once but only 6 supports gems to make or break my build? This class is way to heavily reliant on the parry mechanic and frenzy charges. I love combining 3 skills do to a couple hundred damage while my warrior buddy comes along and hits a couple thousand with his rolling slam. At this point I’m literally forcing myself to play this class dying over and over in hopes that a support gem will drop so I can find the magic gem that will make this class good.

I used to work for Electronic Arts and found that less than 10% of the staff played ANY game and amongst the executives that probably dropped to 1 in 200. In the big studios decisions are made by bean counters.
