Trade needs to change for poe 2

I've done quite some trading in poe 1 and now poe 2 and sorry to say but it is just awful, so very very bad. It is clunky and not intuitive at all with too many steps. Go to site -> whisper to someone, hope they see it and are not afk -> if they see it hope they will actually sell it you -> hope they are not scammers, go to their hideout ect ect.I mean... come on it can be done so much better now.

It was fine for poe 1 but this is a new game in 2025.There is no excuse to have this archaic system in the new game. The currency exchange was one of the best things GGG did (seriously, good job) and they should add an in game mechanic that does this for all items.(Again each trade should have a gold cost aswel, so you need to play the game to use it)

I want to emphasize again. The in game currency exchange is great and it is proof how much better the trade system can be.

Player to player trading isn't a easy task to tackle like the currency exchange is.

Even if we did an auction house in game, it essentially would be designed to just be like the website. No point in wasting game dev time on something that is functionally working.

Regardless of what you do players will some how find a way to scam themselves and will still complain about it.

The beauty behind the current system is that you have the ability to have a live search active for current trades. If you had a auction house type system within the game you essentially would be glued to the npc that has the trade system and wouldn't be able to run maps and play the game.

Its not like they are pioneering the auction house, this problem has been solved thousands of times by now in every other online game, this is borderline insane that we dont have an auction house in poe 2 in this day and age.

I am used to it and you are used to it but that does not make it good. Objectively, it a pretty bad system. Especially for new players.

This has been solved by many games, trade is a HUGE part of the game if you are not playing SSF and devs should 100% invest ALL the time required in to this.

Also live search can be added in game via in game notifications. This is not a valid point.

Not really "insane", it's just a business decision.

This game makes its money with (mostly) cosmetic microtransactions. And no single feature is better at nudging players towards the cash shop than seeing the shiny cosmetics of other players.

And in this game if you want to trade, you always have to face the other party ingame where you will have to look at them, whether you want to or not.

It's brillant from GGG. They can be lazy about the feature itself, pretend that a lack of resources or other reasons are in the way, and still financially profit from not doing something.

I'd just wish for a solo self found mode since trading items doesn't feel like playing a game to me. Since the drop chances will always be adjusted with trading in mind, it's unfortunately a rather unavoidable aspect of this game (if you want to progress in endgame).

Same reason we'll never see an offline mode.

Yeah, don't think those arguments hold any merit.

You can see the other players bling in the hub areas and there is no offline mode to mostly prevent exploits. If the trade is better they will have more players = better business simple as that.
As a Last epoch player, I can say that an auction system would solve many trading problems.
● Buying without having to whisper to someone.

The best solution is to implement an auction house and leave the web system in the past.

It does, but i don't think they're going to do it unfortunately
writing just to bump the post .

add in game trading - auction house - its 2025.
Cosmetic microtransactions are for yourself. No-one else gives a shit about them. Just to be clear.

I suspect most people know this, and actually buy them because they want to play their game in a cool hideout/gear or support the game, not because they want to impress kekR196 for 20 seconds. It may be a bit of factor? But really doubt it's significant in ggg's approach.
