Trying to gear up during campaign in SSF :)

Even in HCSSF I prioritise Rarity over Resistances, because of how mandatory Rarity is.
Is that really intended?
And if it is intended: Is it a good thing?

They are boosting the quality (as they say in the patch) so it should improve either SSF or Trade leagues raw drops in general.

That said, they might just want for us to simply shift a bit our gear from times to times. For instance, running a set of towers with a bit of rarity gear to drop some items. And then when you go bossin', you swap to your dps gear.

The problem is, people want everything at the same time, and that's for me the origin of the debate :

You can't delete screens, delete bosses, not die and loot the best/most amount of stuff.

You gotta make a choice, and I don't find that bad. I generally have a farming/MF character and a bossing character.

The "base" drop rates needs to be improved, I agree. But the way the rarity works is at a good place. From the beginning, it's not a debate about rarity... it's a debate about the base raw drop balancing.

MF is fun, and requires you to balance your character around it... and people succeeding in that puzzle should be rewarded (even tho they're more likely to die, or output less damage).

Now, they only need to fix the base drops without rarity to make it a bit more rewarding, and everything is gonna be ok :D

No they're not.

People have tested hundreds of runs with rarity coming from char + atlas, or char only or atlas only. And the results are around the same.

My main issue is that the two problems (poor droprates balanced around having Rarity, and the terrible gacha based crafting system you need currency for, which you are required to have Rarity for) amplify each other into an enormous problem.

Both need to be addressed.

What baffled me was how they explained magic find worked on currency, it directly affects the level of tiers on the currency you can get. I interpret this as almost like if you have no magic find and an exalted orb drops, that would have been a divine orb if you had high magic find on gear? Or did I misunderstand this?

So using magic find gear could increase your currency gain by a 100x or so since one divine is about 100 exalts? Please tell me I'm wrong about this.

Edited:
I meant magic find, not rarity

Yeah and as i said such results are only achievable if you buff to the tits MF from Gear and also buff to the tits MF from Maps-Tablets-Atlas as they stack multiplicatively with each others .

The previous post saying MF from Gear is fine at 70-100% is dead wrong .

Yes.
However the droprates for currency are heavily nerfed to balance them for Rarity.
This results in even HCSSF players prioritising Rarity over their Resistances, because 1 Exalt / Regal = 1 pull on the slot machine.

It's in a bad state.

The terrible crafting system and the terrible droprates based around Rarity just amplify each other into an enormous problem.

That's for sure there is enormous balance issue right there and GGG will have to do much more than some tuning to get back on the rails . GGG must remove MF entirely from non-unique gear , then tone down the amount of MF we are able to RNG out of Maps/Tablet . Once it is done they should buff the base drop chances , as non-MF farming is pure drought .

Correct.
It is as I said: It affects both the type of currency, and the amount.
No rarity = shitty blue orb.
Rarity = Exalts, Regals.
Later on, Rarity might turn your Exalt into a Divine.

I saw enough of these videos , plus tests related to "where's MF soft cap" to understand there is no real consensus at this point but it is more likely they are multiplicative than being additive .

Anyhow you cannot achieve very high MF in the end if you decide to ignore these easy to get MF from gear .

Maybe they were expecting tons of content, new classes, removal of mechanics, or just simply a easier game.

I want Rarity and the droprate balance around Rarity gone.
I also want a more deterministic crafting system, which they opposed in the interview.
I want higher tier items to have a better chance for higher tier affixes.

Let's say you want to beat this game and make whole set of BIS in a few hours and uninstall this game. Am I right?

I write software.

That was a great effort to talk to the community.

There is no way they can carry the knowledge off all the systems in their heads.
So how exactly rarity effects currency, yeah perhaps they have a general idea of how tiers may influence drops .. but they are not wiki pages.

When they didnt know they said we don't know
When they didn't agree they said no.
That was two very competent people replying the best they could.
You can tell they could have said more in some places but don't want to commit to something that may change , or tilt their hand about what are prrobably still internal conversations about direction .. such as crafting, you can tell by their answers that they debate these things internally.

Most posts here are people upset because their issue isn't an issue
for GGG or low on the priority list. Anything to do with the market or money...
who cares right now, core game mechanics , crashes, bug fixes are the priority.

Be mad sure, but don't criticize the communication effort , it was great and transparent.

They can't implement some things without a season or market reset and are too kind to say.... because if we do this , the community will cry like children.
So we need to wait until we are resetting the whole thing so people dont lose their minds about their duped item and broken class interaction was taken away .
