"All Item Drops Converted to Gold" Shrine - This is bugged, right?

Why in the world would it drop a ton of single gold coins in a level 76 map? It should convert items dropped to gold worth twice its vendor value or something, this has got to be a bug, otherwise it needs a serious buff or should be removed.
