The network lag issue needs to be the highest priority fix for the next patch
I know not everyone is experiencing this issue, and for some people it comes and goes, but since January 3, I have been experiencing consistent bad network lag causing horrific stuttering, not only in safe areas but in maps as well, at both peak hours and off-peak.
Best case, the lag causes microstutters when there are too many entities on screen at once. At worst, it makes the game utterly unplayable, delaying inputs by a second or two at a time or outright missing them, and stutters so badly it makes me physically nauseated. This is not an issue on my end. I have tested other games, including GPU- and CPU-intensive games that would be heavily affected by network latency or input lag like Apex Legends, and had no issues whatsoever maintaining a clean and rock-solid 144fps with no stuttering or network lag on those games. This is definitively an issue on GGG's end, judging from the number of people who have been posting about it in these forums and other places like Twitter and Reddit. Still, I tried every suggested fix I could find. I restarted my router, logged in through different gateways, let my character die several times. None of them worked--the issue still persists, and seems to be getting worse each day. I have not played POE1 but I have heard that some kind of predictive network mode was added to that game to fix a similar issue. Unless some other kind of fix has been identified, that mode needs to be added to POE2 as soon as possible so that people affected by this issue can actually play the game.
