PoE2 is sometimes strange when you think/know the same people made PoE1
I play PoE1 since 3.6 Betrayl and I have played all the arpgs d2, d2R,
Pd2,d3,d4,LE,GrimDawn,TitanQuest.... In PoE2 i have lev 90 Infernalist, 92 Pathfinder, 89 Monk and some lower chars, so i played some hourse. The campagne is great, it looks great and monk especial feels great. But PoE2 sometimes feels like not the same people made poe1. Some stuff is diffent just to be differnt not to be better, it feels like. Here some stuff i have a problem with in PoE2. 1. Augury map. 3 levers you have to pull for 5sec during you can get dmg. This alone is so insaine to me(reminded me of D4 bring a stone to a thing), i can not understand how anyone who ever made or played an arpgs want this. Map/Zones, they are way to big with almost 0 movement skill. The backtracking in maps is completly unacceptable and shocking how it is a thing. 2. Rarity Did we not had the same in PoE1, i feel like we had. So why again? Make the rich richter...feels like real life, what i try to escape from when i play a game. 3. The skill gem system. You can not check skills gems if you dont have the right uncut gem If you dont know a skill is a "spirit" skill you will never find it bc you use a uncut skill gem not an uncut spirit gem. Also the minium level of some gems is crazy. You have to be lev 58 to use the skill you want to use, why? How is it worse to look up skills then in poe1? 4. Linking in PoE2 is worse then in PoE1 If you ever find a 6L (i found 1 on all chars) and you use it, you are forever bound to that skill. In poe1 you can use the 6L for everything you want, eventually you have not the perfct colours but you can use it. 5. The visual clarity in PoE2 is worse then in PoE1 As i remember one big point of PoE2 was better visual clarty? That failed completly. You die form some AoE stuff you can not see, bc it is behinde some stone, house, mob or anything. And the Skill effects are so bright you can not see shit. I play 2 player sometimes, 1 firewall and the others cast Frostwall, i can close my eyes and i see the same as when i look at the screen...nothing. 6. Melee. One thing i can remember they said for years. We fix melee soon. Then GGG said we fix melee with PoE2. I can not see how melee in PoE2 is better then in PoE1. I would say it is worse. Especial since PoE1 Settlers made Melee really fun. 7. 1 death and it is over is just silly. You can not learn anything. You go in a fight blind and the fight has complete unclear one shot with 1 portal, makes 0 sense. You dont learn anything and then grind again for hourse to try again? In maps the same, some stuff is silly and with 1 death makes no sense. (5. visual clarity) And as I understand GGG looked at Elden Ring. I played all the From Soft games and this is not the idea. In every From Soft game that is a "Dark Souls like" (DS1,DS2,DS3,Bb,Sekiro,EldenRing) you have infinity attempts on a boss with no cost except 1 time you lose all souls you have on you. So you go in die over and over and learn slowly with no big punishment. I had 150 deaths to some bosses in Dark Souls in a row and then beat it. That is the DS expirence, not farm 100h for 1 try and then farm again 100h. There is alot more, like Trials that make no sense to me. They said you can decide what you want to do to ascend, but you can not really do that. For example, 1 Lab Ultimatum is 15 levs higher then 1 Lab sanctum, so it is not really a choice. I logged into PoE1 today, firs time after PoE2 came out. PoE1 is such a smooth game. If you have not logged into PoE1 since PoE2 is out, do it and feel the difference.
